CHARGES WILL BE FILED AGAINST THE STUDENT. AND TONIGHT, WE’RE HEARING FROM THE WIFE OF A MAN WHO WAS KILLED AT A GAS STATION IN MOUNT AIRY. OFFICERS FOUND AUGUSTINE LUNA SHOT AT MAYBERRY MART YESTERDAY. THAT IS WHERE WE FIND OUR JOSHUA DAVIS LIVE FOR US TONIGHT. AND JOSHUA, WHAT DID HIS WIFE HAVE TO SAY. YOU KNOW, I JUST RECEIVED AN UPDATE FROM MOUNT AIRY POLICE ABOUT THIS CASE. THEY’RE CALLING IT A RANDOM ACT OF VIOLENCE, AND THEY SAY THERE’S NO LINK BETWEEN THE VICTIM AND THE SUSPECT. AND IT’S STILL NOT CLEAR WHAT HAPPENED IN THE MOMENTS BEFORE OR THE SHOOTING. LUCIE MARTINEZ SAYS HER HUSBAND WAS A LOVING AND CARING MAN. ON MOST DAYS, THIS FARM, TUCKED AWAY IN RURAL MOUNT AIRY, IS FULL OF LIFE AND JOY. BUT TODAY IT’S QUIET AND THE ANIMALS THAT AUGUSTIN LUNA LOVED AND CARED FOR CAN TELL THINGS WON’T BE THE SAME. YEAH, HE LOVED HIS ANIMALS. HE HAD A PASSION FOR HIS GOATS, HIS CHICKENS, HIS SHEEP, HIS DOGS. AND I MEAN, THEY MISS HIM. THEY MISS HIM. YOU CAN TELL AUGUSTINE, WHOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW HIM BETTER AS ALBERTO WAS KILLED ON THE MORNING OF DECEMBER 6TH AT MAYBERRY MART IN MOUNT AIRY WITH MOUNT AIRY POLICE LATER ARRESTING 26 YEAR OLD AUSTIN HAWKS, CHARGING HIM WITH MURDER IN THE LIVING ROOM OF ALBERTO’S HOME. AN ALTER STANDS AS A CELEBRATION OF 39 YEARS OF LIFE. HE WAS A REALLY CARING MAN. I MEAN, WE LOVED EACH OTHER. WE ALWAYS HAD OUR BACK. AND I WAS YOU KNOW, I WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR HIM THROUGH GOOD AND BAD. HIS WIFE, LUCY, SAYS HE WAS A STAPLE OF THIS COMMUNITY. HE HAD A LOT OF FRIENDS. I MEAN, HE WENT OUT TO EVEN THE WALMART OR SOMETHING AND EVERYBODY KNEW HIM, SHE ADDS. HE HAD A DEEP LOVE FOR THIS PLACE HE CALLED HOME A LOVE THAT THIS COMMUNITY IS GIVING BACK TO HIS FAMILY AFTER HIS DEATH. AND I APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP I’VE RECEIVED FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO CAME TO SEE ME AND WHO’S BEEN HERE. WE’LL HAVE JUSTICE FOR ALBERTO. THIS WILL END RIGHT HERE. AT THIS TIME. Lucy Martinez says her husband was a happy and loving man, and this entire situation is something she never could have prepared for.

On most days the couple's farm, tucked away in rural Mount Airy, is full of life and joy. However now it’s quiet, and the animals that Agustin Luna loved and cared for can tell things won’t be the same.

"He loved his animals," said his wife, Lucy Martinez. "He had a passion for his goats, his chickens, sheep, his dogs. I mean, they miss them, they miss him. You can tell.

Agustin, whose friends and family know him better as “Alberto”, was killed on the morning of December 6th at Mayberry Mart in Mount Airy. Mount Airy police hours later arrested 26-year-old Austin Hawks, charging him with murder.
