IT’S AN ISSUE FIRST EXPOSED BY 12 INVESTIGATES CORNERSTONE DETENTION PRODUCTS, SAID THEY’D DO THE JOB FOR ALMOST $2 MILLION. THE MANAGER RECOMMENDED THEM AS THE MORE AFFORDABLE OPTION, BUT THE BOARD WASN’T TOO PLEASED THAT THERE WERE ONLY ABOUT SIX OTHER OPTIONS. THE TRUTH IS, WE REALLY DO LIKE TO SEE BIDS COME, MORE BIDS COME IN AND YOU WANT TO SEE THEM REAL CLOSE AND AND SO WHEN YOU’VE GOT A COUPLE IN THEIR OUTLIERS, THAT’S A LITTLE BIT OF A CONCERN. Cornerstone Detention Products, Inc. offered a bid of $1,904,908.11 to complete the work. The second bid came from The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC. in the amount of $3,183,725.00 to complete the work.The resolution states the county manager recommended the county enter into a contract with Cornerstone Detention Products, Inc.
