BREAKING NEWS FIRST AT 6911 CALLS A REVEALING MORE INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE. WHAT POLICE TOLD US WAS A BARRICADE SITUATION IN GREENSBORO. THIS HAPPENED BACK ON FRIDAY ON GOLDEN GATE DRIVE. 12 INVESTIGATES OBTAINED A MULTIPLE CALLS MADE TO 911 THROUGH A PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST. NOW, ONE OF THE CALLS WAS MADE BY A MAN WHO TOLD DISPATCHERS THAT HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO WORK. AND THERE WERE TWO MEN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE SAID THOSE MEN ATTACKED HIM AND CHASED HIM WITH A KNIFE AND A GUN. HE TOLD A DISPATCHER THEY WERE TRYING TO KILL HIM AND HE FEARED FOR HIS LIFE. HAVE A LISTEN. SO WHERE ANY WEAPON INVOLVED? OH, NO. DON’T THINK WE WOULD KNOW FOR GOOD. LIKE I TOLD YOU, I DON’T KNOW. WERE SHOTS WAS FIRED. I DON’T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON THERE. BUT CERTAINLY ALL THREE OF MY LIFE WHEN I TOOK A RUN AT IT. WELL, NO, BECAUSE I GOT THROUGH IT AND I DIDN’T KNOW WHERE IT WAS GOING. ALL I KNEW WHERE I JUST TOOK OVER AND I SHOT AND I YOU KNOW, I DID NOT CALL Y’ALL. OKAY, SO WHO SHOT THE GUN? YOU WERE THEM. DO. NO, NO, NO. THE WHOLE TIME. I DON’T TELL SOMEBODY WHO THEY’RE TRYING TO KILL YOU. NOW, ON FRIDAY, A NEIGHBOR TOLD WXII 12 NEWS THAT HE HEARD SOMEONE YELLING FOR HELP AND HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. GREENSBORO POLICE SAID THIS IS AN AGGRAVATED ASSAULT INVESTIGATION AND THAT A QUOTE INVOLVED SUBJECT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. WE REACHED OUT TO POLICE THIS WEEK FOR CLARIFICATION ON THAT AND MORE DETAILS AND THEY RESPONDED BY SAYING THIS IS AN EARLY AND ACTIVE CRIMINAL

Emergency calls to 911 are revealing more information about what happened before what police told WXII 12 was a barricade in Greensboro. It happened Friday on Golden Gate Drive. 12 Investigates obtained multiple calls made to 911 through a public records request. One of the calls was made by a man who told dispatchers he was on his way to work and there were two men on the side of the road. He told the dispatcher they were trying to kill him and he feared for his life. Here’s an excerpt from that 911 call. Dispatch: “Were any weapons involved?”Caller: “Ma'am, they were chasing me with knife and gun, like, I told you. I don't know what happened. Shots were fired. I don't know what was going on ma'am but they were chasing me. I feared for my life and I took off running, that's why I'm at where I’m at because I got scared and ran. I didn't know what was going on, I didn't know if they shot me or what, I just took off when I heard the shot and I ended up where I'm at and I'm calling ya'll.”Dispatch: “Okay, so who shot the gun, you or them?”Caller: “Them. They had the gun and the knife, they were chasing me with the gun and the knife the whole time. (inaudible) I said help, they trying to kill me, they trying to kill me!”On Friday, a neighbor told WXII 12 News he heard someone yelling for help and heard what sounded like a gunshot. He said those men attacked him and chased him with a knife and a gun. He told the dispatcher they were trying to kill him and he feared for his life.
