Winston-Salem police arrest two men after shots fired, pursuit
YEAR. THREE PEOPLE ARE FACING A LIST OF CHARGES ACCUSED OF STEALING A CAR, FIRING SHOTS AT VEHICLES AND AN APARTMENT, LEADING POLICE ON A CHASE AND CAUSING TWO CRASHES IN THE PROCESS. NOW THIS ALL HAPPENED AROUND 11 LAST NIGHT. POLICE FIRST RESPONDED TO SALEM GARDENS DRIVE, FINDING DAMAGE FROM THE SHOTS THAT WERE FIRED. OFFICERS LATER TRIED TO PULL THE SUSPECTS OVER ON WAUGHTOWN STREET EIGHT, BUT THEY SPED OFF, LEADING POLICE ON A CHASE TO KERNERSVILLE, THEN BACK TO WINSTON-SALEM. WE’RE TOLD THE SUSPECTS HIT A CAR NOT INVOLVED IN THE CHASE ON HIGHWAY 52. AND LATER HIT A PATROL CAR AT THE INTERSECTION OF 17TH STREET AND NORTH LIBERTY STREET. POLICE SAY THAT SECOND CRASH IS WHEN THE SUSPECTS GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND TRIED TO RUN OFF. POLICE CAUGHT AND ARRESTED TWO MEN. CALEB THOMPSON AND DAVION WILLIAMS. THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A THIRD SUSPECT.

Two men are in jail after being accused of firing shots that hit an apartment with a family inside and leading police on a chase in a stolen car. Police said it happened in Winston-Salem around 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Officers chased the driver to Kernersville and back to Winston-Salem. Police said officers found two guns in the car the suspects were driving. According to police, three people tried to run away, but officers were able to arrest Caleb Thompson and Xavion Williams. Police did not say anything about the third person involved. Watch: NOWCAST streaming newscasts Thompson is charged with felony flee to elude arrest, possession of stolen vehicle, speeding, driving while license revoked, careless and reckless driving, resist arrest, two counts of hit and run, and failure to maintain lane control.Williams is charged with possession of stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and possession of a firearm by a minor. Both men are due in court on Wednesday. Police have not released booking photos of the suspects.
