A meteor was captured on dashcam video as it lit up across the sky. Sean Allen captured it on video while driving in the area of Pilot Mountain early one morning last week. The video captures the meteor as it comes into view. Allen said this is the second time he's witnessed a meteor like that!"So, when I saw a beautiful green glow in the sky I immediately knew what it was and gave it my attention," Allen said. He also said he's glad he did give it attention because it was amazing to see the glow. "I got to witness it before it began to break up in a shower of sparks," Allen said. If the object is large enough and survives to hit the ground, then it is referred to as a meteorite, the NWS said.
