NEW THIS MORNING, THE PIEDMONT TRIAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WANTS TO SHOWCASE YOUR ARTWORK. OUR STAR CONNOR JOINS US THIS MORNING WITH MORE STAR, WHERE IS PTI RECRUITING THESE ARTISTS FROM? WELL, ARTISTS ARE GOING TO BE FROM NORTH CAROLINA AS WELL AS BORDERING STATES LIKE VIRGINIA, TENNESSEE, GEORGIA AND SOUTH CAROLINA. CAN SUBMIT THEIR WORKS. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IS SOMETHING THAT REALLY GIVES THE FLAVOR OF THE PIEDMONT TRIAD AND OF NORTH CAROLINA FROM BEGINNERS TO PROFESSIONALS, PTI WANTS TO SHOWCASE A VARIETY OF LOCAL ARTWORK, ANYTHING THAT CAN BE HUNG SAFELY ON A WALL IS WHAT WE WANT. WE USUALLY WANT THEM ALREADY FRAMED, SO SO THAT THEY CAN JUST HOOK INTO OUR DISPLAY SYSTEM, BUT REALLY, UM, REALLY, THE SKY’S THE LIMIT. PAINTINGS, PHOTOGRAPHS AND SCULPTURES. THEY WANTED ALL TO BE ON DISPLAY AT THE AIRPORT. IT’S PART OF A PROGRAM THAT’S BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2015. IT STANDS OUT. IT GIVES YOU SOMETHING TO DO RATHER THAN WAIT, YOU KNOW, FOR YOUR FLIGHT. UH, TELLS YOU A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY AND THE THINGS THAT OUR ARTISTS ARE INTERESTED IN DOING. STEPHANIE FREEMAN, WITH THE PIEDMONT TRIAD AIRPORT AUTHORITY SAYS ARTISTS FROM ACROSS THE REGION WILL BE FEATURED THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY. If you're traveling through the Piedmont Triad International Airport, you'll soon be looking at new art pieces. Officials said they will soon be displaying the 2024 artist search works. "What we're looking for is something that gives the flavor of the Piedmont Triad and of North Carolina," Public Art Consultant Cheryl Stewart said. From beginners to professionals, PTI wants to showcase a variety of local artwork. "Anything that can be hung safely on a wall is what we want. We usually want them already framed so that they can just hook into our display system. But really, really the sky's the limit," Stewart said. Paintings, photographs, and sculptures, they want it all to be on display at the airport.

It’s part of a program that’s been going on since 2015.
