WELL, WITHIN A MINUTE OF THE INITIAL CALL THAT SHOTS WERE FIRED INSIDE THIS FOOD LION RIGHT HERE. HIGH POINT POLICE WERE HERE, RESPONDED IN MASS TO. BECAUSE IT’S A SERIOUS, SERIOUS TYPE CALL OVER 25 HIGH POINT POLICE OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE SCENE. OFFICERS DETERMINED THAT ONE SHOT WAS FIRED AND NO ONE WAS HIT. 117 YEAR OLD SUSPECT WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY NOT FAR FROM THE FOOD LION. POLICE SAY THEY’RE THANKFUL THE SITUATION WASN’T WORSE. LIKE THE TRAIN FOR THE WORST. AND YOU KNOW THAT WAY WE’RE PREPARED WHEN IT’S NOT HIGH POINT. POLICE SAY THE GUN THE TEEN FIRED WAS STOLEN. THAT 17 YEAR OLD IS NOW CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF A STOLEN FIREARM, DISCHARGING A FIREARM WITHIN A STRUCTURE AND POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A MINOR. IN HIGH POINT, POLICE SAYS THE SUSPECT WAS TAKEN TO THE GUILFORD COUNTY JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER AND THEY’RE CURRENTLY ON A SECURE CUSTODY ORDER, AND IT’S STILL UNCLEAR IF THIS WAS A TARGETED SHOOTING OR NO

A 17-year-old has been arrested for firing a gun inside a grocery store in High Point. High Point Police officers were called to the Food Lion, located at 2200 Westchester Drive in High Point just before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday to reports of shots fired. They responded within one minute. Over 25 High Point Police officers responded. As a result of the initial investigation, it was determined that one shot was fired inside the store. No one was injured in the shooting.
