A man has died following a Friday evening moped crash, according to the Winton-Salem Police Department. Police said they responded to North Liberty Street at Akron Drive around 7 p.m. When they arrived they said they located a moped and a 2009 Infiniti involved in a collision. The driver and passengers of the Infiniti were not injured.Based on witnesses and evidence at the scene, investigators said McMillian was traveling along Akron Drive and didn't stop at the red light in his direction. The driver of the Infiniti was traveling south on Liberty Street with a green light, was unable to stop, and hit McMillian.A next-of-kin for Mr. McMillian has been notified of his death. The roadway was closed for several hours following the crash. Officers said following the crash, the driver of the moped, 39-year-old Prentice Rayshawn McMillian, died at the scene. The driver and passengers of the Infiniti were not injured.
Based on witnesses and evidence at the scene, investigators said McMillian was traveling along Akron Drive and didn't stop at the red light in his direction. The driver of the Infiniti was traveling south on Liberty Street with a green light, was unable to stop, and hit McMillian.
A next-of-kin for Mr. McMillian has been notified of his death. The roadway was closed for several hours following the crash.
