A former Madison Police Department captain has been charged with a crime after resigning in December 2023. Clint Smith was charged with two counts of dissemination of harmful materials to a minor, according to the SBI. He resigned three months later after he was originally placed on leave, according to the town’s interim manager, Amy Roberts.
