INTO THE NEWSROOM, GREENSBORO POLICE. HAVE CONFIRMED ONE OF THE TWO WORKERS HIT BY A CAR THIS MORNING IN THE CITY HAS DIED. THIS VICTIM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS RANDOLPH WESTON FELDER. HE WAS 51 YEARS OLD FROM PILOT MOUNTAIN. THE CRASH HAPPENED ON NORTH MORROW BOULEVARD. POLICE SAY WESTENFELDER AND ANOTHER MAN WERE PUTTING OUT TRAFFIC SIGNS WHEN THEY WERE STRUCK THAT OTHER MAN REMAINS IN

Police said Randolph Norman Westenfelder, 51, of Pilot Mountain, died from his injuries. A second flagger remained in critical condition Monday night, according to police.Police said the men were members of a flag crew setting up a lane closure for utility work when they were hit by a vehicle. Flagger Force’s VP of risk and safety, Luke Lazar, released a statement: “On Monday, January 29, an incident involving a Flagger Force crew and a motorist occurred in a work zone located in Greensboro, North Carolina, resulting in injuries. We take the safety of our employees, clients, and community very seriously and are currently working with the authorities and conducting an internal investigation. In light of the ongoing investigation, we do not have additional information to share at this time.”Police said both men were wearing high-visibility clothing at the time of the crash and that a large arrowboard was directing traffic to merge left.Police said the driver also the arrowboard trailer and a work truck.Charges are pending against the driver, police said. One of the flaggers who was hit by a car Monday morning while on the job has died, according to Greensboro police.

The men were hit around 9:51 a.m. while working on North Murrow Boulevard near Gorrell Street, according to police.

Police said Randolph Norman Westenfelder, 51, of Pilot Mountain, died from his injuries.

A second flagger remained in critical condition Monday night, according to police.

Police said the men were members of a flag crew setting up a lane closure for utility work when they were hit by a vehicle.
