Motorcyclist dies following Wilkes County crash, troopers say
I’M RICK DAMIGELLA REPORTING. POLICE IN HIGH POINT ARE INVESTIGATING AFTER A CAR CRASHED INTO A HOME FIRE OFFICIALS WERE ALSO ON THE SCENE. THEY SAY IT HAPPENED ON WEST ENGLISH BOULEVARD JUST BEFORE TEN LAST NIGHT. OFFICER SAY THE CAR HIT SEVERAL PARKED CARS BEFORE HITTING THE HOUSE. THEY SAY NO ONE WAS INSIDE. HIGH POINT POLICE ORIGINALLY SAID NO ONE WAS INJURED, BUT THE HIGH POINT FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS MINOR INJURIES WERE REPORTED. INVESTIGATORS BELIEVE SPEED WAS A FACTOR IN THE CRASH AND SAY CHARGES ARE EXPECTED. AND NOW TO GREENSBORO, WHERE POLICE NEED YOUR HELP TO FIND A MISSING WOMAN. POLICE SAY 43 YEAR-OLD BRANDY EDWARDS WAS REPORTED MISSING BACK ON DECEMBER 29TH. SHE WAS LAST SEEN ON THIRD STREET IN GREENSBORO. OFFICERS SAY SHE USUALLY IS IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY OR SURROUNDING AREAS. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION, PLEASE CALL THE GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT AND CRIME STOPPERS HAS RELEASED A PICTURE OF A HOMICIDE VICTIM IN THE HOPES OF FINDING A SUSPECT. GREENSBORO POLICE SAY A SHOOTING HAPPENED LAST SUNDAY MORNING ON WEST MEADOWVIEW ROAD IN GREENSBORO. THEY SAY THEY FOUND GABRIEL LOPEZ SUFFERING FROM LIFE THREATENING INJURIES IN A PARKING LOT NEAR BAR LATINO. HE LATER DIED AT THE HOSPITAL. CRIME STOPPERS SAYS THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING AND NOW ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC’S HELP IN FINDING HIS KILLER. A JUVENILE IS FACING A NUMBER OF CHARGES THIS EVENING AFTER MULTIPLE THREATS OF MASS VIOLENCE AGAINST WINSTON-SALEM FORSYTH COUNTY SCHOOLS. THE FORSYTH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THE JUVENILE THREATENED TWO SCHOOLS WITHIN THE DISTRICT BETWEEN LAST SPRING AND THIS MONTH. DEPUTIES HAVE CHARGED THAT STUDENT WITH SIX COUNTS OF COMMUNICATING THREATS OF MASS VIOLENCE, ONE COUNT OF EXTORTION AND 13 OUNTS OF CYBERBULLYING. A motorcyclist is dead following a Saturday afternoon crash in Wilkes County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. NC 16 was partially closed in the area for approximately 1 hour during the on-scene investigation. Investigators do not indicate impairment to be a contributing factor in the collision. When responding officials arrived, they said a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south, attempted to pass another southbound vehicle in a no-passing zone, and collided with a 2022 Toyota Tacoma as it was turning left into a parking lot.

Troopers said the driver of the Yamaha, Tyler David Williams, 23, was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

NC 16 was partially closed in the area for approximately 1 hour during the on-scene investigation. Investigators do not indicate impairment to be a contributing factor in the collision. No charges will be filed in this case.
