If you live in North Carolina, you might be surprised to learn that Christmas Town USA is right here. In December, McAdenville, a suburb of Charlotte, transforms into Christmas Town USA, which is now in its 68th year and is one of the biggest holiday attractions in the Carolinas.

On Dec. 1, the official start of Christmas Town USA will begin with a tree lighting ceremony at 102 Main Street in downtown McAdenville. It will begin at 5:30 p.m.
In the common areas of town sits a large nativity scene, as well as 250 evergreen trees covered with more than 500,000 red, white, and green lights. In the center of town, there is a large lake with a fountain along with floating Christmas trees.

There is also a historic bell tower, built in 1883, that plays Christmas music for the entire town to enjoy.
Christmas Town USA takes place from Dec. 1-26, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night.
