North Carolina Christmas and Holiday Parade Guide 2023

WE HAVE OUR LAST ROUND OF HOLIDAY PARADES GOING ON OVER THE AREA TONIGHT IN WENTWORTH. WE HAVE CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK. THIS WAS A RESCHEDULED EVENT FROM LAST FRIDAY. IT WOULD BE A COOL EVENING. TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S AND EVENTUALLY FALLING INTO THE 40S ON THE HEELS OF A NICE DAY. WE HAVE TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO REACH THE LOWER 60S LATER THIS AFTERNOON. WENTWORTH UP IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY TOMORROW. SO I THINK WE HAVE ABOUT TEN PARADES SCHEDULED AND WE’RE NOT EXPECTING ANY WET WEATHER. AT WORST, WE COULD SEE A PASSING BRIEF SHOWER, BUT RAIN IS NOT REALLY A BIG PART OF YOUR SATURDAY FORECAST. IT’LL START OUT RELATIVELY COOL, BUT REALLY NOT FEELING TOO BAD IN ADVANCE. THAT’S THE FIRST PARADE ON SATURDAY IN THE MORNING AND BY LUNCHTIME, A NUMBER OF PARADES WILL BE UNDERWAY. BREEZY AND MILD, STOKESDALE, GIBSONVILLE, AMONG OTHERS GETTING GOING IN THE AFTERNOON ABOUT 2 P.M., INCREASING CLOUDS IN A PASSING RAINDROP. TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S SUNDAY’S PARADES PROBABLY GOING TO BE WET. WE’RE GOING TO HAVE RAINY WEATHER IN THE PLACE MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. WE’LL STILL BE IN THE 60S FOR THE AFTERNOON. JUST TWO PARADES ON THE DOCKET IN LEWISVILLE AND THEN THE YADKIN VALLEY PARADE THAT GOES BETWEEN ELKIN AND JONESVILLE WILL GET GOING. BOTH OF THOSE EVENTS WILL BE IN THE AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES YESTERDAY GOT BACK IN THE LOW TO MID 50S CONDITIONS ARE A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN THE NORM. AVERAGE HIGHS ARE TYPICALLY IN THE MID 50S, BUT CLOSER THAN WE’VE BEEN AT MOST POINTS THIS WEEK. WE DID HAVE A VERY CHILLY START YESTERDAY. THE MERCURY DROPPING TO 27 DEGREES. GREENSBORO CURRENTLY RUNNING ABOUT TEN DEGREES WARMER THAN THAT. AND WE DO HAVE A FEW COMMUNITIES WHERE TEMPERATURES ARE CLOSER TO 40, MOSTLY UPPER 30S IN THE MOUNTAINS, BUT WARMER THAN THE FOOTHILLS. A GOOD SIGN THAT ALL OF US WILL WARM UP TODAY AS THAT WARM AIR THAT’S MOVING IN TENDS TO REACH THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS FIRST AND THEN KIND OF WORK ITS WAY DOWN, EVENTUALLY SCOURING OUT THE COOLER, DENSER AIR NEAR THE GROUND. BREEZY WEATHER IS REALLY BRINGING A KIND OF A WARM PUSH OF AIR JUST EAST OF THAT COLD FRONT. THERE ISN’T MUCH RAIN REALLY OF ANYTHING GOING ON AHEAD OF THAT FRONT OTHER THAN SOME DEVELOPING CLOUDS. BUT EVENTUALLY IT WILL START TO PRODUCE SOME SHOWERS AND EVEN SOME STRONG THUNDERSTORMS LATER IN THE DAY. TODAY, WE’LL BE BACK IN THE LOW TO MID 50S, CLOSE TO YESTERDAY’S HIGH. BY LUNCHTIME TODAY, ON OUR WAY TO TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 60S. COOL 40S THIS EVENING IF YOU’VE GOT DINNER PLANS OR JUST GOING OUT LATER ON THIS EVENING WE’LL START TO BRING IN A RAIN CHANCE FOR OUR WESTERN HALF DURING THE DAYTIME TOMORROW. SO BETTER SHOWER CHANCE ON SATURDAY DURING THE DAY, FARTHER WEST AND JUST A STRAY SHOWER POTENTIALLY FOR THE TRIAD AS WE GET INTO SATURDAY NIGHT, ESPECIALLY LATE SATURDAY NIGHT, THE RAINFALL STARTS TO INTENSIFY BY THE COVERAGE BEGINS TO EXPAND. AND WE COULD SEE SOME THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING FROM TIME TO TIME DURING THE DAY ON SUNDAY, INCLUDING A CHANCE THAT WE COULD SEE A FEW STRONG STORMS. IS THE BETTER THREAT IS GOING TO BE FOR A FEW STRONG WIND GUSTS, BRIEF TORNADOES ACROSS THE SOUTH CAN’T BE RULED OUT. BUT I THINK HEAVY RAIN AND THE PONDING OF WATER THAT DEVELOPS COULD CAUSE A FE
