A place to call home: David is a kind-hearted teen longing to get out of group home and meet his forever family

A place to call home: David is a kind-hearted teen longing to get out of group home and meet his forever family
I’M INTRODUCING YOU TO 16 YEAR OLD DAVID. HE TOLD ME HE SEES HIMSELF AS A RESPECTFUL YOUNG MAN WITH A GREAT WORK ETHIC AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, IS KIND. I THINK IT’S IMPORTANT TO BE KIND TO OTHERS BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT THEY’RE GOING THROUGH. SO IF YOU TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED. YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE AND EVERYTHING YOU DO. I MET DAVID AT THE DAVID BUSTER’S IN WINSTON-SALEM. HE’S A FAN OF VIDEO GAMES, SO IT WAS JUST THE PLACE WE PLAYED ABOUT EVERY SINGLE RACE CAR DRIVING GAME THERE. I WOULD DESCRIBE MYSELF AS A FUNNY KID. A PLAYFUL KID, REALLY. IF THEY IF THEY HAVE SIBLINGS OR OTHER KIDS IN THE FAMILY THAT ARE YOUNGER OR OLDER THAN ME, YOU KNOW, I COULD HAVE A GOOD TIME WITH THEM. HE TOLD ME HE’S TRYING TO BE A KID WHILE HE’S STILL CAN. AFTER BEING FORCED TO LEAN ON HIS OWN STRENGTH AT A YOUNG AGE TO GET HIM THROUGH TOUGH TIMES. FOR MYSELF AND FOR OTHER KIDS OUT THERE WHO ALSO WANT TO BE ADOPTED AND NEED A FAMILY, YOU KNOW, JUST JUST KNOW. AS YOU AS YOU’RE GOING THROUGH STRUGGLE, STRUGGLES AND TRIBULATIONS AND TRIALS, YOU GOT TO LOOK TOWARDS THE FUTURE. DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE NEGATIVE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE HAPPENING. WORRY ABOUT THE POSITIVE THINGS THAT ARE IN THE FUTURE TOWARD YOU AND FOR ME. THAT WOULD BE SPENDING TIME WITH MY FAMILY WHO I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO MEET. YOU CAN REALLY SENSE THE HOPE IN HIS VOICE. PLEASE CONTACT THE CHILDREN’S HOME SOCIETY OF NORTH CAROLINA. IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW CAN GIVE DAVID A PLACE TO CALL HOME. REPO
