Winston-Salem man killed after fight with off-duty SC officer in Chick-fil-A parking lot
A Winston-Salem has been identified as the victim in a deadly restaurant parking lot shooting in South Carolina.
According to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, the shooting happened Wednesday, around 1:20 p.m., near the Chick-fil-A on North Main Street in Summerville, South Carolina.
One person was killed.

Thursday, the coroner's office identified the victim as Michael O'Neal, 39, of Winston-Salem. The coroner said O'Neal died from a gunshot wound.
O'Neal's death is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Summerville police told NBC affiliate WCBD News 2 that O'Neal's death involved an off-duty officer who got into an altercation with O'Neal.
The reasoning, or motive, behind the altercation is not known.
Officials say the off-duty officer was hit by a vehicle during the altercation and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
