The coroner said O'Neal died from a gunshot wound.O'Neal's death is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.Summerville police told NBC affiliate WCBD News 2 that O'Neal's death involved an off-duty officer who got into an altercation with O'Neal.The reasoning, or motive, behind the altercation is not known.Officials say the off-duty officer was hit by a vehicle during the altercation and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.This is a developing story.
