More than $10 million are coming to improve travel in North Carolina.Republican Sen. Thom Tillis announced a grant Monday.The funds come from The Rural Surface Transportation Grant, part of the bipartisan infrastructure law that Senator Tillis helped negotiate and pass into law.The U.S. Department of Transportation Multimodal Projects Discretionary Grant awarded $10,4 million.This grant will expand vehicles for 11 rural communities.The grant will also modernize transportation for hundreds of thousands of North Carolina citizens.“This grant is a big win for rural North Carolina and will improve and modernize on-demand transportation for more than 800,000 North Carolinians,” Tillis said.
