ADRIANA HARGROVE HAS MORE ON WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING THAT TRIP. WELL NOW BOOK NOW, BOOK NOW. I CAN’T STRESS THAT ENOUGH. TIFFANY WRIGHT WITH THE FAA WARNS THE SPRING TRAVEL SEASON WILL BE BUSY FOR MANY PEOPLE, THAT’S THEIR FIRST BIG TRIP THAT THEY’VE HAD IN PROBABLY FOUR YEARS, ACCORDING TO AA, A RECENT SURVEY SHOWS 89% OF NORTH CAROLINIANS WILL BE TRAVELING AROUND THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, SAYING THIS LARGE INCREASE IS DUE TO NO MORE COVID RESTRICTIONS. NOW, YOU KNOW THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS. AND SO FOR THE, YOU KNOW, NO RESTRICTIONS THAT INVOLVE THE PANDEMIC, I SHOULD SAY SO. SO PEOPLE JUST HAVE A LOT MORE CONFIDENCE. AND SO THEY WANT TO TRAVEL AN AIRPORTS IN THE TRIAD LIKE PTI ARE BRACING FOR THAT IMPACT. THERE’S USUALLY 6 TO 7000 PEOPLE THAT ARE MOVING THROUGH HERE. UM, YOU KNOW, AND I WOULD SAY THAT’S PROBABLY UP BY ABOUT 10% OR 15% OR SO BECAUSE OF SPRING BREAK. THE NUMBER OF TRAVELERS IS NOT THE ONLY THING SEEING A LARGE UPTICK. TICKET PRICING, AT LEAST FROM THIS TIME, PROBABLY LAST YEAR, HAS INCREASED. BUT BAGGAGE FEES HAVE ALWAYS STAYED PRETTY STAGNANT. SO IT’S GOOD. YEAH, VERY EXPENSIVE. UM, LIKE ALMOST DOUBLE THE TRIPLE BECAUSE OF THE PRICING. SO I USUALLY TRY TO IF I DON’T HAVE TO I DON’T I WON’T BOOK, I WON’T BOOK, I’LL WAIT TILL LATER. THESE TRAVELERS ARE KICKING OFF THEIR SPRING BREAK TRAVELING TO LARGE METRO CITIES LIKE NEW YORK AND ATLANTA. THEY’RE CONFIDENT THAT THEY’RE PREPARED FOR THE CROWDED AIRPORTS. SO WHEN YOU LEAVE SOMEPLACE LIKE HERE AND YOU GO THERE, YOUR MINDSET HAS TO TOTALLY CHANGE. AS YOU CAN SEE, I’M WEATHER READY. I’M HOPING FOR NOT TOO TOO BAD, BUT A LOT. A FEW EXTRA HOURS OF TRAVEL.
