TONIGHT. EIGHT STUDENTS ARE BEING TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES AFTER A STOKES COUNTY ACTIVITY BUS WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH TODAY, ACCORDING TO STATE TROOPERS, THIS HAPPENED ON I-40 IN CATAWBA COUNTY. TWO OTHER VEHICLES CRASHED AND THAT CAUSED ONE OF THEM TO LOSE CONTROL AND SIDESWIPE THE ACTIVITY BUS. WE’RE TOLD THERE WERE 33 STUDENTS ON THE BUS AT THE TIME. On Wednesday, around 3:20 p.m., troopers responded to a crash in Catawba County on I-40 East near mile marker 129. In the investigation, troopers learned that two vehicles traveling eastbound hit each other. The crash resulted in one of the vehicles sideswiping a Stokes County activity bus.

There were 33 students onboard, and eight sustained minor injuries.

Stokes County Schools released a statement regarding the incident, saying injured students were treated at the scene. The district also said all students on board have been safely returned home.
