WE ARE NOW FOLLOWING BREAKING NEWS OUT OF WINSTON-SALEM POLICE SAY THAT A MAN DIED IN A DRIVE-BY SHOOTING. OFFICERS DID RESPOND TO A SHOTS FIRED CALL JUST AROUND MIDNIGHT. THIS WAS THERE AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTHWEST BOULEVARD AND TRADE STREET ON THE WAY THEY DID LEARN THAT SOMEONE HAD BEEN SHOT. OFFICERS FOUND 30 YEAR OLD WILMER RAFAEL SUAREZ MONTOYA THERE ON THE SIDEWALK WITH MULTIPLE GUNSHOT WOUNDS. HE DIED THERE AT THE SCENE. INVESTIGATORS NOW BELIEVE THAT THE VICTIM WAS TARGETED BY SUSPECTS DRIVING BY IN A VEHICLE. THIS IS WINSTON-SALEM 25TH HOMICIDE OF THE YEAR. SO FAR TODAY, A MAN FROM RANDLEMAN ACCUSED OF KILLING HIS MOTHER IS EXPECTED IN COURT. 46 YEAR OLD ADAM BRADLEY IS CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER. HE’S CURRENTLY IN THE GUILFORD COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BOND. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS DEPUTIES WERE CALLED TO A HOME ON EAST STEEPLECHASE ROAD JUST SOUTH OF GREENSBORO WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY FOUND SHERRY BRADLEY DEAD INSIDE. INVESTIGATORS SAY THE 73 YEAR OLD HAD BEEN SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES. HIGH POINT POLICE SAY THAT THREE YOUNG MEN WITH EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL RECORDS ARE NOW ACCUSED OF KILLING A 15 YEAR OLD BOY. 18 YEAR OLD DEMONTE WILLIAMS JR. ALONG WITH 16 AND 17 YEAR OLD, ARE NOW CHARGED WITH MURDER AND CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER. POLICE ARE NOT NAMING THOSE JUVENILES AT THIS TIME BECAUSE OF THEIR AGE. INVESTIGATORS SAY THAT THE THREE KILLED A 15 YEAR OLD BACK IN MARCH OF LAST YEAR. THIS WAS INSIDE OF AN APARTMENT THERE ON SHARON CIRCLE. OFFICERS TELL US THAT WILLIAMS IS FAMILIAR TO THEM. HE’S BEEN ARRESTED MORE THAN A DOZEN TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. WINSTON SALEM POLICE SAY THEY EXPECT TO MAKE ADDITIONAL ARRESTS IN A DEADLY SHOOTING THAT HAPPENED ONE WEEK AGO DURING A ROBBERY. ONE SUSPECT IS WAKING UP BEHIND BARS THIS MORNING. US MARSHALS ARRESTED ARMON HARDY. HE’S CHARGED WITH MURDER, ARMED ROBBERY AND BURGLARY. HE’S ACCUSED OF KILLING 21 YEAR OLD DEONTE MACON WITH SALEM. POLICE SAY THE SHOOTING HAPPENED ON QUINCY ROAD ON MAY 18TH. STATE HIGHWAY PATROL IS NOW INVESTIGATING A CRASH THAT INVOLVED A TROOPER. THIS HAPPENED THERE ON WILKES COUNTY NEAR GOFORTH ROAD. THIS IS RIGHT THERE NEAR THE MAPLE SPRINGS COMMUNITY. WE ARE STILL WORKING TO FIND OUT IF THAT TROOPER OR ANYONE ELSE WAS HURT IN THE PROCESS AND FIND OUT THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES BEHIND THE CRASH TODAY. GOVERNOR ROY COOPER WILL BE THERE IN ALAMANCE COUNTY. THIS COMES JUST DAYS AFTER HE ISSUED A CALL TO ACTION FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION. THE GOVERNOR WILL BE VISITING HAW RIVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL THIS MORNING. HE’S THERE ON A STATEWIDE CAMPAIGN AGAINST REPUBLICAN BACKED LEGISLATION. COOPER OPPOSES AN EXPANSION OF SCHOOL VOUCHERS, SWITCHING THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION FROM GOVERNOR APPOINTMENTS TO PARTIZAN, ELECTED POSITIONS AND TEACHER PAY PROPOSALS THAT HE SAYS WILL FALL SHORT. REPUBLICANS HAVE DISMISSED COOPER’S CONCERNS AS A POLITICAL STUNT. TODAY, GUILFORD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL HOLD THE FIRST OF THREE WORK SESSIONS ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET. THE $832 MILLION PLAN WOULD SET ASIDE MONEY TO HIRE MORE SCHOOL NURSES, CREATE A TEAM DESIGNATED TO ANSWER MENTAL HEALTH CALLS AND FUND PAY RAISES FOR COUNTY EMPLOYEES. A South Carolina man was sentenced to prison after authorities say he coerced a 12-year-old girl in Virginia into sending him sexually explicit videos and images of herself via Snapchat.
