RIGHT NOW. GOOD AFTERNOON, EVERYONE. A MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED AFTER POLICE SAY HE WAS ON A TRIAD CAMPUS WITH SEVERAL WEAPONS AND HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION. ON MARCH 26, GREENSBORO POLICE RESPONDED TO NORTH CAROLINA ANTI STATE UNIVERSITY FOR A HEAVILY ARMED MAN. CAMPUS POLICE SAID BRANDON BENTLEY WAS VIOLENT AND MAKING THREATS TOWARD LAW ENFORCEMENT WHEN GREENSBORO OFFICERS ARRIVED, BENTLEY HAD BEEN CHASING UNARMED SECURITY GUARDS ON CAMPUS. HE WAS EVENTUALLY TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. POLICE FOUND TWO HANDGUNS, TWO SHOTGUNS, A RIFLE, A CROSSBOW, MACHETE, STUN GUN, HATCHETS, KNIVES, CHOKING DEVICES, PEPPER SPRAY, A BLOW DART, GUNS, BRASS KNUCKLES, FIREWORKS AND OTHER WEAPONS INSIDE HIS VEHICLE. HE ALSO HAD MORE THAN 1000 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION. BENTLEY WAS CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE WEAPONS OFFENSES, INCLUDING HAVING A FIREARM WEAPON AND EXPLOSIVE DEVICE ON EDUCATIONAL PROPERTY. A man is facing numerous charges after he was arrested at North Carolina A&T State University’s campus. Greensboro police said on March 26, they responded to the NC A&T campus to a heavily armed individual. They said Brandon James Bentley, 27, was violent and making threats to law enforcement. NC A&T officers told police Bentley was chasing unarmed security guards on the campus. Police and NC A&T officers helped to detain Bentley. North Carolina A&T State University released the following statement:"On March 26 at approximately 4 a.m., Brandon James Bentley was arrested on the North Carolina A&T State University campus after being encountered driving unsafely in the area of Sullivan Street and Benbow Road.After campus law enforcement discovered weapons in the vehicle, Bentley was immediately arrested, and the weapons confiscated. Because of the quick and decisive action of law enforcement, a campus alert was not issued, as the suspect no longer constituted an ongoing threat to campus safety. The FBI, State Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Greensboro Police Department are in charge of an ongoing joint investigation into this incident. Bentley, who has no affiliation with A&T, has been banned from the North Carolina A&T campus.The University remains committed to safety and security of our campus and will continue to use the emergency alert system in instances where threats are ongoing." He appeared in court on March 27.

NC A&T said Bentley has no affiliation with A&T and has been banned from its campus.

Bentley was released on bond, according to court documents. His bond was set at $100,000.
