Teen shot and killed during a social gathering, police say
WE’LL TAKE A CLOSER LOOK COMING UP. HAPPENING NOW HERE, 803 IN GREENSBORO. POLICE ARE ASKING FOR HELP FINDING A MISSING WOMAN. 75 YEAR OLD CONSTANCE MIRANDA EPPS BUTLER, YOU SEE THERE IS SAID TO HAVE SOME KIND OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT. AND IN THERE, SILVER ALERT. POLICE DESCRIBE HER AS FIVE FOOT FOUR, ABOUT 230 POUNDS WITH BLACK HAIR. THEY SAY SHE WALKS WITH A LIMP. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON HER WHEREABOUTS, CONTACT GREENSBURG POLICE. ALSO NEW THIS MORNING AND IN GREENSBORO, A ONE PERSON IS IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER THEY WERE SHOT LATE LAST NIGHT. THIS HAPPENED JUST BEFORE 10:00 ON OGDEN STREET, JUST ACROSS FROM SOUTH EUGENE STREET. NOW, POLICE SAY OFFICERS FOUND ONE PERSON SHOT, BUT THEY’VE NOT GIVEN AN UPDATE ON THEIR CONDITION AS OF THIS MORNING, NOR HAVE THEY PROVIDED ANY SUSPECT INFORMATION. ALSO IN GREENSBORO, WE HAVE AN UPDATE ON THAT SHOOTING IN THE PARKING LOT BY COLISEUM DRIVE IN FREEMAN MILL ROAD. THAT HAPPENED FRIDAY NIGHT. THIS IS VIDEO OF THAT SCENE. POLICE SAY THAT IT WAS A DRUG DEAL GONE WRONG BETWEEN FOUR MEN. TWO ENDED UP SHOT. THEY WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. OTHER CARS IN THE AREA WERE HIT BY THE GUNFIRE. POLICE SAY A THIRD MAN WAS INTERVIEWED HIM RELEASED AND THE FOURTH RAN AWAY. THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR HIM. INVESTIGATORS DID RECOVER THREE GUNS AND ILLEGAL NARCOTICS AT THE SCENE. NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED AS OF THIS MORNING. THIS WEEKEND MARKS FOUR YEARS SINCE THE MURDER OF 28 YEAR OLD JERRY WATKINS JUNIOR. HIS THEN FIANCEE IS STILL FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE. WATKINS WAS FOUND SHOT TO DEATH IN A YARD BEHIND A HOUSE ON CLEMMONSVILLE ROAD ROAD IN WINSTON-SALEM BACK ON APRIL 1ST, 2019. POLICE SAY THEY HAVE NO NEW INFORMATION SINCE THAT ORIGINAL POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. NOW, HIS FIANCE, ADRIAN WATKINS, IS PUSHING POLICE TO DO MORE, EVEN ASKING THE COMMUNITY TO COME FORWARD WITH ANY EVIDENCE OR INFORMATION. SHE SAYS SHE JUST WANTS THIS CASE TO FINALLY BE SOLVED FOR HER. THEIR KIDS AND WATKINS FAMILY. HE WASN’T ARGUMENTATIVE. HE HE WASN’T CONFRONTATIONAL OR, YOU KNOW, HE WAS A GIVER, LIKE A TRUE LOVER. LIKE HE DIDN’T DO DRAMA. HE’S DAY TO HIMSELF. YOU KNOW, HE HAD A FEW FRIENDS IN FAMILY THAT HE’D BE AROUND. BUT, YOU KNOW, HE WASN’T IN TROUBLE. HE WASN’T A TROUBLEMAKER. CONTACT WINSTON-SALEM POLICE WITH ANY INFORMATION YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT THIS CASE IN WINSTON-SALEM AS WELL. POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR A SUSPECT INVOLVED IN A SHOOTING AND CAR BREAK INS. POLICE SAY AROUND 330 YESTERDAY MORNING, PEOPLE WERE SEEN BREAKING INTO CARS ALONG PEACEHAVEN ROAD AND A WITNESS REPORTED THOSE SUSPECTS SHOOTING AT THEM THERE. A POLICE PURSUIT OF THOSE SUSPECTS LED TO A CAR CHASE.3 WINSTON-SALEM PD SAYS THEY WERE ABLE TO ARREST THREE OF THEM, ALL JUVENILE LS. POLICE SAY THE TRUCK THAT THEY WERE IN WAS REPORTED STOLEN THE DAY BEFORE. THEY ALSO FOUND A STOLEN HANDGUN INSIDE. ONE WOMAN WHO HER CAR WAS STOLEN FROM SAYS THAT THEY TOOK HER DEBIT CARD. YOU SHOOT SOMEBODY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THEN BULLET WENT THROUGH AND HIT SOMEBODY. BABY. WHAT WOULD YOU DO THEN? JUST BE A MURDERER AND A THIEF AND SIT IN JAIL. FOR WHAT? FOR YOUR FRIENDS. ROWAN COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES IS RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT THIS BY ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO CREATE HEALTHY COMMUNITIES FOR KIDS. THEY ALSO SAY THE GROUP PREVENT CHILD ABUSE AND SEE SELLING PINWHEELS THAT YOU CAN BUY TO SUPPORT THE COUNTY IS ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO ASK THEIR REPRESENTATIVES IN CONGRESS TO SUPPORT CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION GRANTS.
