President Joe Biden was in Durham Tuesday to kick off his "Investing in America" tour.The president visited Wolfspeed, a company that makes semiconductors. The company recently announced a $5 billion investment in its facility located in Durham. They also plan to create 1,800 new jobs. “Wolfspeed is making an investment that will further strengthen the supply chain. The largest investment in manufacturing in North Carolina history,” President Joe Biden said. We just need to remember who we are, are the United States of America. There is nothing, nothing beyond our capacity when we act together virtually nothing," President Biden said. After President Biden's visit to Durham, he, along with First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, members of the Cabinet, and White House officials, will visit dozens of states to highlight other companies.Future visits to North Carolina include: Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo will travel to North Carolina to visit manufacturers producing fiber optic cable.
