POLICE SAY ALL LANES OF NORTH LIBERTY STREET BETWEEN EAST 17TH STREET AND NEW HOPE LANE ARE CLOSED AFTER A CRASH. WE WERE TOLD JUST ONE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED THAT CAUSED SOME POWER OUTAGES IN THE AREA, SOME POWER LINES ARE DOWN. CREWS ARE MAKING REPAIRS ON THAT AND THEY DID SAY THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED, WHICH IS GOOD NEWS. THERE. THEY DID NOT SAY, THOUGH, WHAT CAUSED THAT CRASH. SPRAGG STREET ALSO CLOSED FROM WILLARD ROAD EAST TO WAUGHTOWN STREET AFTER A DUKE POWER POLE WAS DAMAGED. CREWS ARE THERE WORKING TO MAKE REPAIRS AS WELL. OFFICERS WERE CALLED TO THAT CRASH ON PETERS CREEK PARKWAY NEAR CLEMMONSVILLE ROAD JUST AFTER 830 LAST NIGHT. ACCORDING TO POLICE, 42 YEAR OLD JOEL PARK WAS FOUND DEAD AT THE SCENE. INVESTIGATORS SAY PARK WAS WALKING ACROSS THE SOUTHBOUND LANES OF PETERS CREEK PARKWAY WHEN HE WAS HIT BY AN SUV. THAT DRIVER REMAINED ON SCENE AND IS COOPERATING WITH THE INVESTIGATION. POLICE SAID PARK’S NEXT OF KIN HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. AND ALSO WINSTON SALEM, A 20 YEAR OLD MAN, IS IN THE HOSPITAL THIS MORNING AFTER POLICE SAY HE WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES IN HIS CAR, AS HAPPENED AROUND 1130 YESTERDAY MORNING ON LEONA STREET. INVESTIGATORS SAY THAT SHOOTER OPENED THE VICTIM’S CAR DOOR, SHOT HIM MULTIPLE TIMES.
