The WXII 12 First Warning Weather Team is tracking soggy weekend weather that has a chance to include periods of sleet and snow.This may be difficult to believe, considering the high temperature at PTI Airport hit 70 degrees on Wednesday and 68 degrees on Thursday. Even Friday morning, Triad temperatures stayed in the 50s and 60s. Still, temperatures can drop quickly in the winter months. If you bring cold air and wet weather together, snow is always a possibility.►Get the latest winter weather closings Right now, a complicated storm system is moving into the Carolinas. Scattered showers will be possible Friday afternoon, especially in the southeastern Triad. Temperatures turn colder this weekend as rain returns for all by Saturday night.
