Lindsay Clein

Anchor/Reporter

Lindsay Clein is an award-winning journalist and storyteller from here in the Piedmont Triad, and she is thrilled to be back in her hometown telling your stories and bringing you the news daily. Lindsay has a passion for using her experience as a journalist to make a difference. She believes journalism is not only about holding people accountable and sharing facts, but it's also about giving a voice to people who otherwise wouldn't have one.

Prior to joining the WXII news team, Lindsay most recently worked for the FOX affiliate in Charlotte, NC covering a wide variety of difficult topics-- including the 2019 campus shooting at UNC Charlotte. Lindsay also anchored eight straight hours of nonstop, wall to wall coverage of the 2020 November Presidential Election. Having worked in the show-me-state for several years, Lindsay has covered many severe weather events, and the impacts storms have left on communities throughout the midwest. While in Missouri, Lindsay had difficult conversations with people throughout the area regarding the growing opioid epidemic, which earned her an Emmy nomination. She also won several state awards for her work in breaking news and investigative reporting, including the lingering effects of the Manhattan Project on a St. Louis suburb. Lindsay fell in love with journalism at a young age, growing up watching WXII daily. She studied journalism at the University of Florida, where she won an Edward R. Murrow award for a news documentary on empty food banks. From there, she spent a year and a half in Big Sky Country getting her start at the CBS affiliate in Bozeman, Montana.

In her free time, Lindsay loves exploring the outdoors, traveling to new places, playing and discovering new music, cheering on the Florida Gators & Carolina Tarheels, and spending time with family and friends.
