Kenny Beck

Anchor

Kenny Beck is an Anchor at WXII 12 News and Triad CW.

Since joining the team in 2007, Kenny has covered presidential political rallies, wall-to-wall severe weather coverage, national sports championships, compelling human interest stories and everything in between.

After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Maryland and spending four years on their varsity baseball team, during which time he tied a school record for saves as a submarine relief pitcher, Kenny was drafted by the Montreal Expos.

Kenny spent a season and a spring training in the minor leagues and kept a journal of his experiences, which was published in 2007 under the title "What Day Is Today?"

After his professional baseball career ended, Kenny was hired at WMDT, the ABC-affiliate in Salisbury, Maryland, in 2003. During his days on the shore, he organized, produced and moderated multiple live political debates for statewide and local elected offices.

Kenny's career at WXII 12 has included stints as a reporter and sports director before becoming an anchor. He has received numerous honors and awards during his career in local television.

Kenny and his wife live in Forsyth County with their two children and dog, Ripken.
