WATCH: Rain Friday Night & Saturday. Nice Sunday
APPLICATIONS ARE ON THE COUNTY’S WEBSITE, DAVIE. IT’S HARD TO THINK ABOUT THE POOL ON A DAY LIKE TODAY. LAST WEEKEND, IT FELT SO NICE, BUT WE’RE KIND OF BACK IN THAT COLD, COOL PATTERN FOR TODAY. AND I GUESS THE NEXT FEW DAYS MAYBE. YEAH. AND WET TOO. LINDSAY, AS WE GET ON INTO. TONIGHT AND THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY TOMORROW, WE’VE GOT A GOOD CHANCE FOR SOME RAIN IN HERE AND WE’LL TALK ABOUT THAT. THE CLOUDS ARE ALREADY BEEN GATHERING THROUGHOUT THIS MORNING. THEY’RE GOING TO THICKEN UP AS WE GO INTO THIS AFTERNOON TO YOU CAN SEE OVER HIGH POINT RIGHT NOW THE CLOUDS STARTING TO THICKEN UP. IT’S STILL A LITTLE FILTERED SUN FROM TIME TO TIME, BUT FOR THE MOST PART IT’S PRETTY CLOUDY OUT THERE ACROSS THE REGION. NOTHING ON THE RADAR LOCALLY AT THE MOMENT, BUT IF YOU EXPAND THINGS OUT JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE, YOU GO DOWN TO OUR SOUTH. YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE RAINS NOW INTO THE MIDLANDS OF SOUTH CAROLINA ARE APPROACHING AREAS OF THE MIDLANDS AND DOWN INTO PORTIONS OF GEORGIA TOO. SO WE’LL SEE THIS RAIN COME INTO PLAY MAYBE AS EARLY AS LATE THIS AFTERNOON, AND THEN ON INTO THE EVENING HOURS AS WELL. TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN HELD AT BAY TWO. WE’VE GOT A BIT OF A NORTHEAST FLOW OUT THERE. IT’S KEPT OUR TEMPERATURES COOL INTO THE UPPER 40S TO AROUND 50 IN SOME SPOTS, A LITTLE MILDER FURTHER SOUTH YOU GO. IT’S 52 RIGHT NOW DOWN IN TOWARDS LEXINGTON AND SOUTHERN PARTS OF DAVIDSON COUNTY. AT THIS HOUR. THESE ARE THE WINDS OUT OF THE NORTHEAST RIGHT NOW. THEY’RE FAIRLY LIGHT, BUT IT’S THAT NORTHEAST FLOW THAT KEEPS OUR TEMPERATURES COOL ACROSS THE AREA. WITH HIGH PRESSURE OFF TO OUR NORTH. AT THE MOMENT, RAINFALL TOTALS WERE A LITTLE ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE MONTH, AND WE’RE WELL ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE YEAR SO FAR. WE’RE GOING TO SEE THESE NUMBERS INCREASE AS WE GET INTO THE NEXT 12 HOURS OR SO. AS WE GET ON INTO OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. BUT FOR THE REST OF THIS AFTERNOON, CLOUDS EARLY ON. BY LATE AFTERNOON, WE MIGHT START TO SEE A FEW SPRINKLES AND SHOWERS DEVELOP. THE BETTER CHANCES WILL BE AS WE GET ON INTO THE NIGHTTIME HOURS. ONCE THE SUN STARTS TO SET INTO THE OVERNIGHT, WE’LL SEE SOME RAIN IN HERE. SOME OF IT COULD BE MODERATE, MAYBE EVEN HEAVY AT SOME POINTS, AND THEN FOOTHILL TEMPERATURES GOING TO BE ABOUT THE SAME IN THE MID 50S TODAY, WITH SOME SHOWERS STARTING TO DEVELOP A LITTLE BIT LATER ON THIS AFTERNOON. BETTER CHANCES FOR RAIN OVERNIGHT AND EARLY TOMORROW MORNING, AND ALSO IN THE MOUNTAINS. TEMPERATURES WILL BE INTO THE 40S THIS AFTERNOON FOR HIGHS. THE BEST CHANCE FOR RAIN WILL BE A LITTLE BIT LATER ON INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. SO LATE FRIDAY THE RAIN MOVES IN WILL REMAIN STEADY AS WE GET INTO THE OVERNIGHT. AND THEN TOMORROW MORNING WE’LL HAVE SOME RAIN AROUND, MAYBE A FEW HEAVY DOWNPOURS, MAYBE AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM. I THINK MOST OF THOSE WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE FOR US. AND THEN FOR TOMORROW AFTERNOON WILL BE A LITTLE SHOWERY OFF AND ON. AND BUT STARTING TO REALLY TAPER OFF AS WE GET INTO LATE IN THE AFTERNOON TOMORROW. SO RAINFALL TOTALS AN INCH MAYBE A LITTLE BIT MORE IN SOME SPOTS. EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OUTLOOK FOR THE DAY FOR TONIGHT. AND THEN THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY TOMORROW, REALLY BACK OUT OVER THE MOUNTAINS, THE FOOTHILLS AND PORTIONS OF THE WESTERN PIEDMONT. DON’T EXPECT ANYTHING SEVERE. MAYBE AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM AS WE GET ON INTO BEFORE THE MIDNIGHT HOUR. ALL OF THAT SHIFTS ON DOWN TO THE EAST FOR ANY THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. BUT AGAIN, IF WE GOT AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM, WE WOULDN’T EXPECT ANY SEVERITY OUT OF THEM AS MOST OF THIS ACTIVITY COMING UP FROM THE SOUTH AS WE GO THROUGH LATE SATURDAY, ONCE THE RAIN START TO COME TO AN END, MAYBE AN INCH, MAYBE A LITTLE HIGHER IN SOME SPOTS, AN INCH AND A QUARTER IN SOME AREAS THIS HIGH THAT’S JUST SOUTH OF NEW YORK CITY. THAT’S WHAT’S BRINGING IN THAT NORTHEAST FLOW, KEEPING US A LITTLE COOL. MOISTURE DOWN TO THE SOUTH. ALL THIS ENERGY WITH THIS LOW DOWN OVER PORTIONS OF LOUISIANA IS GOING TO START TO WORK OUR WAY. WE’VE GOT SOME DRIER AIR BACK OUT TO THE WEST OF THAT. AND THAT WILL START TO DRY US OUT. ACTUALLY, THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEKEND IS LOOKING PRETTY GOOD. OUR TEMPERATURES RIGHT AROUND 60 THEN, BUT WE GOT SOME RAIN TO GET THROUGH OVERNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY TOMORROW, A FEW LITTLE SHOWERY ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 60S. SUNDAY LOOKS BETTER MONDAY TWO. NEXT CHANCE FOR RAIN LATER THIS
