LOOKING CLEAR. BUT THEN GOOD CHANGES ARE HAPPENING. CHANGES ARE ON THE WAY. YOU’RE RIGHT HERE LOCALLY AT HOME IN THE PIEDMONT TRIAD. IT IS A WEATHER IMPACT DAY, BUT I’VE GOT A BIG PICTURE HERE FOR YOU. IF YOU DO HAVE SPRING BREAK PLANS ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST OVER THE NEXT A WEEK OR SO, LOOKING AHEAD, WE HAVE THIS SYSTEM THAT WILL BE MOVING THROUGH FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY AND THEN ANOTHER ONE ON ITS HEELS. THIS IS THE NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST. IT WILL BE TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY THAT MOVES THROUGH. RAIN COULD BE HEAVY AT TIMES. THERE COULD EVEN BE SOME STORMS AS WELL. SO OF COURSE CHECK IN WITH THE LOCAL FORECAST WHEREVER YOU’RE HEADING. BUT THAT’S A BIG PICTURE. WATCHING TWO SYSTEMS OVER THE NEXT WEEK OR SO IN THE SOUTHEAST. BACK HERE AT HOME THIS MORNING, IF YOU’RE HEADING OUT THE DOOR, LOW 40S. SOME OF US IN THE MID 40S LEXINGTON YOU’RE STARTING OFF AT 45 BURLINGTON 42 EDEN AT 40, MOUNT AIRY AT 46. FAIRLY COMFORTABLE MORNING, STILL COOL LIGHT LIGHT JACKET IS JUST ABOUT ALL YOU NEED OUT THERE. SKIES HAVE BEEN CLEAR OVERNIGHT, SO WE COOL DOWN, BUT YOU SEE THAT THICK CLOUD DECK BUILDING INTO PLACES LIKE ATLANTA, GEORGIA, COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, EVEN TOWARD THE CHARLOTTE AREA. NOW IT’S A WEATHER IMPACT DAY. THOSE CLOUDS WILL THICKEN UP AND THEN RAIN MOVES IN LATER ON. THE FIRST HALF OF OUR FRIDAY IS DRY, BUT BY YOUR EVENING COMMUTE, WIDESPREAD LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WILL BE MOVING IN THAT MEANS ROADS ARE LIKELY WET FOR FRIDAY NIGHT PLANS AND INTO SATURDAY AS WELL. AND OVERALL, LOOKING AT AN INCH OR MAYBE EVEN MORE OF RAIN FROM THIS SYSTEM, I’LL SHOW YOU FUTURECAST HERE IN A MOMENT. BUT FOR NOW, IN THE MOUNTAINS, CLOUDS WILL CERTAINLY KEEP OUR TEMPERATURES COOLER ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA. TODAY WHERE CHILLY THIS MORNING IN THE 40S, AND THEN ONLY UPPER 40S FOR HIGHS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON. RAIN CHANCES BEGIN TO INCREASE LATER ON, ESPECIALLY BY DINNERTIME, WITH THE HEAVIEST OF THAT MOVING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING. IF YOU HAVE ANY FRIDAY NIGHT PLANS, IT’S A GOOD IDEA TO TRY TO MOVE THEM INDOORS. IT’S GOING TO BE A WET NIGHT ACROSS THE PIEDMONT TRIAD, MID 50S FOR HIGHS FOOT IN THE FOOTHILLS. LATER ON TODAY, JUST A LIGHT EASTERLY BREEZE AGAIN. BETTER RAIN. CHANCES ARE LATER IN THE DAY TODAY AND UPPER 50S FOR THE PIEDMONT TRIAD. THOSE CLOUDS KEEP US COOL. IT WILL BE SORT OF A GRAY DAY, BUT FOR THIS MORNING WE ARE DRY BEFORE RAIN CHANCES INCREASE. LET ME SHOW YOU FUTURECAST HERE. STARTING OFF THIS MORNING, YOU SEE THOSE CLOUDS BUILD IN LIKE I SHOWED YOU EARLIER. THIS IS 5:00. LIKELY A GOOD BATCH OF STEADY RAIN MOVING INTO THE PIEDMONT TRIAD AND ARRIVING BY THE EVENING COMMUTE. AND THEN MORE RAIN CONTINUES MOVING IN. THIS IS 9:00. IT COULD BE STEADY, MAYBE EVEN HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT. AND INTO SATURDAY MORNING. THAT RAIN CONTINUES BEFORE THE SHOWERS TAPER OFF. BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON AS THIS SYSTEM SWEEPS OFF TO THE NORTH AND EAST AND GETS OUT OF HERE. BUT THE RAIN MOVES OUT FOR THE SECOND HALF OF SATURDAY. WE’LL BEGIN DRYING OUT ON SUNDAY. RAINFALL TOTALS. THIS WILL BE A GOOD SOAKER, AROUND AN INCH TO AN INCH AND A HALF OF RAIN LIKELY ACROSS. BASICALLY THE ENTIRE AREA. SOME PLACES AGAIN COULD SEE MORE DEPENDING ON WHERE THAT HEAVIEST BAND OF RAIN SETS UP. I KNOW IT’S NO FUN TO HAVE RAIN ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY TO START OFF THE WEEKEND, BUT IT WILL HELP WITH THE POLLEN YESTERDAY AND THEN TO AGAIN TODAY. THOSE POLLEN LEVELS ARE AT A HIGH COUNT, BUT TOMORROW THANKS TO THE RAIN AND THE BREEZE KIND OF WASHING EVERYTHING AWAY, BRINGING THOSE LEVELS BACK DOWN TO LOW BEFORE THEY PICK BACK UP AGAIN. IT’S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR. WE’VE GOT IMPACT DAYS FOR FRIDAY AND SATURD
