OFFICIALS SAY THE FIRE IN THE WAREHOUSE IS NOW OUT, BUT THE BUILDING SUSTAINED A LOT OF DAMAGE. MAGE THE FIRE DID SPREAD TO NEARBY WOODS.

NC State Highway Patrol says a 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling northeast on Kirby Lackey Road when the driver lost control and was struck by a 1999 Ford Expedition traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the motorcycle, Devante Milik Clark, 27, of Hiddenite, was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Expedition, Derek Lynn Sexton, 45, of Statesville, was not injured.

According to NC State Highway Patrol, excessive speed is the contributing factor in the collision.
