BERTIE TODAY, A GREAT DAY TO BE OUTSIDE FOR SOME OF THAT ACTIVITY. I’D SAY IT REALLY WAS BEAUTIFUL SUNNY. IF IT WEREN’T FOR THE WIND, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT. THERE’S ALWAYS A GIVE OR TAKE, GIVE AND TAKE RIGHT? BUT YOU KNOW, THANKFULLY TODAY’S WIND A LOT WARMER THAN YESTERDAY’S WIND, DID YOU NOTICE THAT? YES. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE SHED WAS OPEN WHEN I GOT HOME. RIGHT. THE DOORS WERE JUST LIKE ALL THE BARN DOORS WERE BLOWN OFF. THERE IS A HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY TODAY. YOU CAN SEE THE FOUNTAINS ACTUALLY MOVING AROUND QUITE A BIT IN THOSE STIFF WINDS THIS AFTERNOON. ALSO MOVING AROUND THE POLLEN TREE POLLEN COUNTS HIGH TODAY, EXPECTED TO BE HIGH AGAIN TOMORROW. OAK, ELM, MAPLE AND PINE. EVEN THE GRASS PARK POLLEN COUNTS ARE COMING UP A LITTLE BIT AND BECOMING A LITTLE NOTICEABLE IN OUR COUNTS NOW. WEST WINDS AT 5 TO 10 MILES AN HOUR. RIGHT NOW, SO NOT NEARLY AS STRONG AS THEY WERE EARLIER. ALSO, THE GUSTS HAVE COME DOWN TO ABOUT 10 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR EARLIER TODAY, THOUGH, WE RECORDED SOME MAXIMUM WIND GUSTS AT 30 TO 35 ACROSS OUR REGION. IN THE MOUNTAINS, THE WIND GUSTS WERE HIGHER. WE’RE UNDER A WIND ADVISORY EARLIER TODAY, SO 45 TO 55 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS REPORTED RIGHT NOW. THOSE GUSTS HAVE COME DOWN QUITE A BIT AROUND 20. AND SUSTAINED WINDS ARE AT ABOUT 5 TO 10 MILES AN HOUR. NOW. TOMORROW WE WON’T HAVE AS MUCH WIND, BUT WE STILL HAVE THE DRY CONDITIONS, LOW HUMIDITY OUT THERE. SO WE DO HAVE A VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER TOMORROW FOR STOKES, SURRY AND WILKES COUNTY. LOOK AT TODAY’S HIGHS. BOY, IT WAS NICE, RIGHT? 71 DEGREES IN GREENSBORO, 72 IN BURLINGTON AND WINSTON-SALEM, 73 IN LEXINGTON, 69 DEGREES IN MOUNT AIRY AND RIGHT NOW AT 59. SO COOLING OFF JUST A BIT, BUT IT IS STILL COMFORTABLE OUT THERE, CLOSE TO 60 IN THE TRIAD. THERE’S SOME COOLER AIR A LITTLE FARTHER NORTH AND WEST WHERE LOUISVILLE IS AT 50 RIGHT NOW. AND YOU DO SEE OUR FRONT GETTING READY TO PUSH INTO THE AREA. SO BEHIND THAT, TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE ABOUT TEN DEGREES COOLER TOMORROW AFTERNOON, WHICH PUTS US REAL CLOSE TO NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, WHICH IS IN THE LOW 60S. SO THAT FRONT WILL BE MOVING IN OVERNIGHT BY TOMORROW MORNING, YOU’RE GOING TO FEEL A LITTLE BIT OF A CHILL MORNING. TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO START IN THE UPPER 30S BY LUNCHTIME. WE’RE CLOSE TO 60. AND IN THE AFTERNOON WE’VE GOT LOW 60S FOR YOU WITH A LIGHT NORTH BREEZE, A HIGH OF 62. TOMORROW IN THE FOOTHILLS. PLENTY OF SUNSHINE FOR YOUR THURSDAY. A COOL START JUST ABOVE FREEZING, AND WE ARE JUST BELOW FREEZING IN THE MOUNTAINS AT ABOUT 30 DEGREES. AND THEN TOMORROW AFTERNOON INTO THE MID 50S, MOUNTAINS DO COOL DOWN WITH SOME RAIN COMING IN ON FRIDAY. FOOTHILLS. ALSO ANOTHER DROP INTO FRIDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW 50S AND MID 50S IN THE FORECAST BY FRIDAY IN THE PIEDMONT. AND WE’VE GOT THE RAIN COMING IN SO YOU CAN START TO SEE SOME OF THAT MOISTURE GATHERING HERE OVER TEXAS AND NORTHERN MEXICO. AND THAT WILL BE MOVING ALONG THE GULF COASTAL STATES. AND THEN FOR US, IT’S DRY TOMORROW. AND I ACTUALLY THINK IT’S DRY FOR THE EARLY PART OF THE DAY ON FRIDAY WE WILL START TO GET THE CLOUDS GETTING PRETTY THICK DURING THE DAY AFTER LUNCHTIME TIME AND INTO THE AFTERNOON. THAT’S WHEN WE EXPECT TO SEE THAT STEADY RAIN MOVING IN. IT DOES LOOK LIKE MOST OF THE REAL HEAVY RAIN IS FROM THE TRIAD EAST, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT ASSOCIATED WITH THAT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT’S GOING TO TRACK RIGHT ALONG THE COAST AND THEN MOVE AWAY, AND SHOULD DRY US OUT DURING THE DAY ON SATURDAY. THANKFULLY, WE’RE NOT ANTICIPATING ANY SEVERE WEATHER, BUT THERE COULD BE A LITTLE BIT OF THUNDER ALONG I-95 AND I-20. ALSO, A MARGINAL RISK FOR SOME FLOODING JUST TO OUR SOUTH AND EAST, WHERE THOSE RAINFALL TOTALS COULD BE OVER A COUPLE OF INCHES. SO YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE FORECAST MODEL OUTPUTS HERE AT 1 TO 3IN. IN THE EASTERN PART OF NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA. WE’RE GOING TO WATCH THAT CLOSELY, BECAUSE ANY SHIFT IN THE TRACK OF THAT LOW WOULD SHIFT THOSE HEAVIER RAIN BANDS. HERE’S YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST. IT IS A COOL RAIN WITH TEMPS IN THE 50S INTO THE WEEKEND. MOST OF THAT RAIN. SATURDAY IS EARLY IN THE DAY. WE’LL DRY OUT FOR SUNDAY
