AGAINST AN IN-STATE RIVAL. FIRST TONIGHT, THOUGH, A STORY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE IN DAVIDSON COUNTY. CREWS SPENT A GOOD PART OF THE EARLY EVENING SEARCHING MUDDY CREEK AFTER FINDING A CAR IN THE WATER. KARA PETERS WALKS US THROUGH WHAT HAPPENED. WHEN WE GOT ON SCENE, WE SAW THIS ENTIRE AREA OF FRY BRIDGE ROAD COVERED BY FIRE CREWS AS THEY TRIED TO PULL OUT A CAR AND LEARN IF ANYONE WAS INSIDE, AND THEN AFTER FURTHER INFORMATION, FIRE CREWS LEARNED THAT IT WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OUTCOME. ACCORDING TO KEVIN HOOSER WITH THE ARCADIA FIRE DEPARTMENT, LEWISVILLE AND CLEMMONS FIRE DEPARTMENTS ASSISTED IN HELPING TO PULL OUT THIS CAR SUBMERGED IN WATER. LEWISVILLE BOAT CREWS WENT DOWNSTREAM TO CHECK IF ANYONE WAS INSIDE OR NEAR THE CAR, BUT THEN AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, CREWS LEARNED THE CAR WAS ACTUALLY ATTACHED TO A TRAILER. EARLIER TODAY AND SOMEHOW BECAME DISLODGED. TRAVELING DOWN INTO THE CREEK, CHIEF HOOSER SAYS HE’S THANKFUL THIS INVESTIGATION HAD A DIFFERENT OUTCOME, BUT HAS A MESSAGE FOR THE COMMUNITY AS IT’S TURNED OUT, THERE’S NO VICTIMS HERE. AND SO IT TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT, UH, TRAINING EVOLUTION FOR MULTI-AGENCY TRAINING TONIGHT, IF YOU’RE GOING TO TOW A VEHICLE, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CONNECTIONS, MAKE SURE YOUR SAFETY CHAINS ARE HOOKED. SO THAT MAYBE THIS WOULDN’T HAPPEN TO YOU. AND RIGHT NOW, IT’S UNCLEAR WHAT CAUSED THAT CAR TO SEPARATE FROM THE TRAILER. BUT AGAIN, CREWS ARE JUST HAPPY THAT THE INVESTIGATION WENT A POSITIVE WAY IN DAVIDS
