I WON’T LET THE METEOROLOGISTS JUMP AND GANG UP ON YOU. IT’S OKAY. BUT YEAH, WE TALKED ABOUT TREE POLLEN. SEASON’S WELL UNDERWAY. GRASS POLLEN SEASON IS STILL DOWN THE ROAD, AND WE’RE ALREADY SEEING THOSE POLLEN COUNTS SPIKE WITH THE WARMER TEMPERATURES AND THE WINDY DAYS. AND CAN YOU GUESS WHAT TODAY’S FORECAST IS? WARM AND WINDY. THERE YOU GO. YEP. SO WE’RE GOING TO HAVE THE POLLEN REALLY UP IN THE AIR TODAY. SO BE AWARE OF THAT. STARTING OUT WARMER ALREADY THIS MORNING ABOUT 5 TO 10 DEGREES WARMER THAN WE WERE YESTERDAY AT THIS TIME. STILL A BIT CHILLY THOUGH. 40 DEGREES IN GREENSBORO, 39 THERE IN GALAX, 33 FOR MOUNT AIRY, 38 AS YOU HEAD TOWARD DANVILLE, 34 DOWN THE ROAD IN BURLINGTON. SO STILL CHILLY. THE WIND IS NOT THAT BAD THIS MORNING, WHICH IS SOME GOOD NEWS. BUT LATER ON TODAY IT’S GOING TO PICK UP AGAIN OUT OF THE WEST 20 30 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS LIKELY THROUGH MOST OF THE AFTERNOON. THAT WILL REALLY HELP TO STIR UP THE POLLEN AS WELL. I’VE BEEN SEEING PICTURES FROM PLACES LIKE MYRTLE BEACH DOWN THE COAST, WHERE YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE A HAZE OF POLLEN IN THE SKY. IT’S PRETTY NASTY THIS TIME OF YEAR. WE DO HAVE AN INCREASED FIRE DANGER JUST BECAUSE OF THE DRY AIR AND THOSE WARM BREEZES MOVING THROUGH. IT’S ELEVATED ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA, BUT REALLY LOOKING AT OUR NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS FOR THAT EXTRA HEIGHTENED RISK FOR WILDFIRES, EVEN INTO THE VIRGINIA PIEDMONT TO PLACES LIKE PATRICK COUNTY FOR US, AND THEN MARTINSVILLE DANVILLE AREA, SEEING THAT VERY HIGH TO CRITICAL FIRE DANGER TODAY. SO CERTAINLY POSTPONE ANY OF THAT OUTDOOR BURNING AND REALLY JUST HOLD OFF UNTIL LATER THIS WEEK UNTIL CONDITIONS IMPROVE. HERE’S YOUR FORECAST FOR THE MOUNTAINS TODAY. LUNCHTIME. WE’RE NEAR 50 DEGREES IN AN UPPER 50S TO NEAR 60. LATER ON, YOU SAY IT’S NOT THAT BAD FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. WE’LL SEE LOTS OF SUNSHINE, BUT THERE WILL BE THE WIND. SO FEELING A LITTLE BIT COOLER TODAY. UP IN THE MOUNTAINS, THE FOOTHILLS WARM AND WINDY. UPPER 60S LATER ON TODAY IN THE PIEDMONT TRIAD, LIKELY WARMEST ZONE OF ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA, UPPER 60S TO NEAR 70 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON, ESPECIALLY FOR PLACES SOUTH AND EAST. WE CAN MAKE A RUN AT 70 DEGREES AGAIN. THOSE WINDS GUSTING 30MPH AT TIMES. WE’RE DRY FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THAT’S WHY WE HAVE THAT FIRE DANGER. THEN WE BRING BACK AN IMPACT DAY FOR FRIDAY AS OUR NEXT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES IN AND BRINGS IN AN INCREASED RAIN CHANCES. STILL TRYING TO NAIL DOWN THE TIMING OF WHEN RAIN STARTS AND FINISHES. BUT BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON, LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE RAIN MOVING IN AND IT COULD BE HEAVY OVERNIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING. BY SATURDAY EVENING, LOOKS LIKE WE CLEAR OUT SUNDAY LOOKING DRY AS WELL. SO HERE’S YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST. SUNNY FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AND THOSE RAIN CHANCES RETURN AND COOL BACK DOWN TO THE
