Ten-year-old Florida resident Flynn Lewis won't be the first Lewis to play at the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club when he competes in the upcoming Drive, Chip and Putt competition.Flynn's grandfather, Bob Lewis Jr., competed in the Masters seven times in the 1980s, including winning the low amateur in 1987."It's unreal because the fact we get to carry on his legacy there is cool. And I get to go there it's so cool," Flynn said.For Flynn's Dad, Tristan — who played golf at Georgetown — it's a full-circle moment. Bob died in 2021, but his legacy lives on through the family."They knew him and heard stories directly over the years and as we go through these things and go to different places, I'll throw in some stories on what might have happened there," Tristan said.Flynn moved on from qualifying tournaments to secure his spot in the April 7 competition, where he'll compete in the 10 to 11-year-old group."It's going to be so awesome because to be able to get there is crazy, and to be able to compete there is even more crazy and to be able to compete there is even cooler," Flynn said.Flynn and his whole family, including two siblings, will attend a practice round on Monday of the Masters, where Flynn hopes he can meet some professionals, including his favorite player, fellow Jupiter resident Justin Thomas.
