THANKS FOR STAYING WITH US. COMING UP TOMORROW. IT KICKS OFF A COMMUNITY WIDE INITIATIVE IN THE TRIAD. OFFICIALLY, IT IS TITLED FORSYTH CREEK WEEK. IT BEGINS MARCH 16TH THROUGH THE 24TH. SO WE’RE LOOKING AHEAD TO CREEK WEEK. CAN YOU JUST TELL US THE OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE OF ALL OF THE EVENTS? YEAH. SO CREEK WEEK IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO CELEBRATE OUR UNIQUE WATERWAYS THAT WE HAVE IN FORSYTH COUNTY. IT’S AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET YOUR FEET WET, LITERALLY, AND GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY. HELPING US WITH CLEANUPS AND JUST HAVING FUN. AND YOU WANT PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL OF THE EVENTS YOU HAVE PLANNED RIGHT? FOR, YOU KNOW, THE WEEK LONG INITIATIVE THAT IT IS. SO TELL US SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU’VE CURATED AND HOW PEOPLE CAN GET INVOLVED. RIGHT. ABSOLUTELY. WE HAVE OVER 90 EVENTS DURING CREEK WEEK. SO THERE YEAH, THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY HERE ON SUNDAY, WE’RE GOING TO KICK IT OFF WITH OUR JAMBOREE, WHICH IS IN CLEMMONS AT VILLAGE POINT LAKE, AND WE’LL HAVE FREE FISHING LICENSE AND FEE REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THAT. WE’LL HAVE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE KIDS, FOOD TRUCKS, DIFFERENT VENDORS OUT THERE, AND WE’LL HAVE BAIT FOR SALE, WHICH IS CASH ONLY. AND THAT’S JUST GOING TO BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET EVERYBODY TOGETHER FOR TALK ABOUT OUR CREEKS KICK OFF CREEK WEEK AND HAVE FUN, ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL WEATHER WE’VE BEEN HAVING AND THEN WE ALSO HAVE FREE FISHING ALL WEEK LONG AT SALEM LAKE. SO ANY OF THESE DAYS THAT YOU WANT TO GO OUT AND FISH AT SALEM LAKE, YOU CAN DO THAT FOR FREE DURING CREEK WEEK. ON MONDAY, WE’RE GOING TO HAVE OUR KEYNOTE EVENT, WHICH IS THE STATE OF THE WATER TALK, AND THAT’S GOING TO BE AT THE PIEDMONT TRIAD REGIONAL COUNCIL. AND THAT’S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PEOPLE, FOR CITIZENS TO GET INVOLVED AND HEAR ABOUT WHAT OUR WATERS ARE LIKE IN THE TRIAD AND ASK INDUSTRY EXPERTS IF THEY HAVE ANY FEEDBACK OR ANY QUESTIONS THAT THEY MAY HAVE FOR THAT. AND WE’RE ALSO GOING TO BE GIVING AWAY A FREE RAIN BARREL DURING THAT EVENT. AND A FEW OTHER DOOR PRIZES SO THAT SHOULD BE PRETTY FUN. I REALLY HOPE THAT PEOPLE WALK AWAY FROM CREEK WEEK WITH A BETTER APPRECIATION OF OUR WATERWAYS. WE HAVE SO MANY UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL WATERWAYS IN FORSYTH THAT WE REALLY NEED TO BE BETTER STEWARDS OF THEM. SO CREEK WEEK IS REALLY TRYING TO BRIDGE THAT GAP BETWEEN OUR BEAUTIFUL CREEKS AND THE CITIZENS SO THAT HOPEFULLY OUR KIDS AND FUTURE GENERATIONS CAN CONTINUE TO PLAY WITH THEM AND KEEP THEM CLEAN. YEAH. SO MANY GREAT WAYS TO LEARN. YOU KNOW, NEW THINGS THIS WEEK. AND WE KNOW IT’S ALSO SERVING AS A LEAD UP TO AN EARTH DAY EVENT. EARTH DAY IS IN APRIL RIGHT? YES. IT’S APRIL 20TH. OKAY. AND THAT WILL BE AT THE WINSTON-SALEM FAIRGROUNDS. AND THERE WILL BE DEMONSTRATIONS THERE. THERE’LL BE DIFFERENT VENDORS. IT’S REALLY SOMETHING FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY. SO THEY’LL HAVE THINGS FOR LITTLE KIDS ALL THE WAY UP TO ADULTS.
