North Carolina juvenile arrested after stolen car chase in Graham, driver still wanted, officers say
MECKLENBURG AND ROCKINGHAM COUNTY. GRAHAM POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR A MINOR OR ACCUSED OF STEALING A VEHICLE AND LEADING OFFICERS ON A CHASE. OFFICERS SAY THEY TRIED TO PULL OVER THE DRIVER LAST NIGHT AFTER GETTING A REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE, AND THE DRIVER EVENTUALLY CRASHED ON I-80. FIVE AFTER OFFICERS USED A TIRE DEFLATION DEVICE BUT RAN AWAY FROM THE SCENE. A PASSENGER, WHO WAS ALSO A MINOR, WAS DETAINED BY POLICE. BOTH ARE FACING SEVERAL CHARGES.

Two juveniles were arrested after a vehicle chase in a stolen car, according to officers with the Graham Police Department.On Monday around 11:30 p.m., an officer with the Graham Police Department located a stolen vehicle just after officers were told to be on the lookout on their radios. When officers tried to stop the car, the driver refused, initiating a chase. It didn’t last long, as officers used a tire deflation device soon after. The stolen vehicle crashed on Interstate 85 North. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Durham. When officers tried to stop the car, the driver refused, initiating a chase. It didn’t last long, as officers used a tire deflation device soon after. The stolen vehicle crashed on Interstate 85 North. One juvenile passenger was detained at the scene of the crash, while the driver, another juvenile, fled the scene and is still wanted by police.

Since the suspects are juveniles, they’ll be charged on juvenile petitions for multiple charges for the stolen vehicle and the pursuit.
