Eden's factory is Purina’s — and parent company Nestlé’s — first manufacturing operation in North Carolina.
Purina said it's already brought in more than 300 jobs to Rockingham County. It's also spent more than $450 million on the Eden factory. This is the largest investment by Purina in a manufacturing facility yet.
The Eden factory, located on E. Meadow Road, was renovated from a former brewery. When it opens, it will produce dry cat and dog food for brands like Purina Pro Plan and Purina ONE.
“We are thrilled to introduce Purina to the Eden, Rockingham County and North Carolina community,” said Purina Eden factory manager Will Steiner in a press release.
“North Carolina boasts a highly skilled workforce that Purina is committed to training, developing and investing in to ensure that the growing number of pet owners across the country have access to nutritional cat and dog food.”
