PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION. WINSTON-SALEM POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR TWO MEN WHO ROBBED A GAS STATION EMPLOYEE AT GUNPOINT. THIS HAPPENED JUST BEFORE 6:00 THIS MORNING AT THE SPEEDWAY ON SILAS CREEK PARKWAY. A CLERK TOLD OFFICERS THE SUSPECTS POINTED A GUN AT THEM AND THEN DEMANDED MONEY FROM THE REGISTER. WE’RE TOLD THE SUSPECTS GRABBED CASH AND RAN OUT OF THE STORE. INVESTIGATORS SAY THE MEN WERE LAST SEEN GOING TOWARD SALISBURY RIDGE ROAD AND TWIN CITY. POLICE SAY A SHOOTING LEFT ONE PERSON HURT. THIS ONE HAPPENED LATE LAST NIGHT IN THE 2000 BLOCK OF HAWTHORNE ROAD. WHEN POLICE GOT TO THE SCENE, EVERYONE FLED AND POLICE LATER FOUND THE SUSPECT AT A GAS STATION ON HIGHWAY 66. THE VICTIM THEN SHOWED UP AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL FOR A MINOR, NON-LIFE THREATENING GUNSHOT WOUND INJURY. INVESTIGATORS SAY THIS STEMMED FROM A DOMESTIC INCIDENT AND EVERYONE INVOLVED KNEW EACH OTHER. NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED. LIBERTY POLICE SAY A MISSING MAN WITH HEALTH CONCERNS COULD BE HEADED TO GREENSBORO. OFFICERS SAY 27 YEAR OLD CAMERON MATTHEW BROWN HAS A COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT. INVESTIGATORS TELL US HE WAS LAST SEEN WALKING ON EAST TEAGUE AVENUE AND COULD BE TRAVELING TO THE INTERACTIVE RESOURCE CENTER IN GREENSBORO. NO PICTURE OF BROWN IS AVAILABLE, BUT HE IS DESCRIBED AS SIX ONE AND WEIGHS AROUND 175 POUNDS. HE’S BELIEVED TO BE WEARING BLUE JEANS WITH A GRAY HOODIE AND A WHITE BOOK BAG. THE ALAMANCE BURLINGTON SCHOOL BOARD WILL MEET THIS EVENING TO DISCUSS THE FATE OF ITS VIRTUAL SCHOOL PROGRAM. NOW, THIS DISCUSSION WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HELD LAST FRIDAY NIGHT, BUT THE DISTRICT SAYS IT WAS MOVED TO TODAY, PARTIALLY BECAUSE SO MANY PARENTS AND STUDENTS WANT TO SPEAK UP, AND THEY’LL GET THE CHANCE TO DO THAT AT THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT. AND THAT IS AT THE ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING BEGINNING AT 6:30 P.M. THAT’S WHEN THE SUPERINTENDENT’S BUDGET WILL BE PROPOSED. THAT PROPOSAL DOES NOT INCLUDE THE VIRTUAL SCHOOL, BUT SOME STUDENTS DON’T WANT TO GO BACK TO IN-PERSON LEARNING WHEN I’M IN IN PERSON SCHOOL, I CAN’T ASK FOR HELP. AND SO WITH VIRTUAL SCHOOL, IT’S VERY EASY FOR ME TO ASK FOR HELP AND GET THE HELP I NEED FOR ME TO SUCCEED. THERE’S A LOT OF BULLYING THAT HAPPENED THAT YEAR, A LOT OF BAD STUFF. SO WE MOVED BACK TO VIRTUAL SCHOOL AND IT’S LIKE THE OPPOSITE. LIKE EVERYTHING HERE IS JUST GREAT. WE HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE BUDGET CHALLENGES FACING A S SINCE THE DISTRICT’S MOLD ISSUES THIS PAST SUMMER. YOU CAN SEE ALL
