THIS HAPPENED AROUND 415 ON COAL ROAD NEAR EAST BRAGG STREET, ACCORDING TO INVESTIGATORS, THE CHILD GOT OFF THE BUS AND CROSSED THE ROAD BEHIND THE SCHOOL BUS BEFORE THEY WERE HIT BY SOMEONE GOING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. A car hit a student in Winston-Salem on Thursday, Feb. 22, around 4:17 p.m.On Thursday, around 4:17 p.m., officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department were called to the 2400 block of Cole Road about a car accident. Once they arrived, it was discovered that a juvenile had been hit by a car. Officers said the juvenile got off a Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School bus in front of a home. The school bus driver retracted the stop arm and went along with their route. Then, the juvenile ran across Cole Road, behind the bus, according to the police report. The driver of the car that hit the pedestrian, as well as the driver of the WS/FCS bus, stayed on the scene after the crash and cooperated with the investigation.There are no charges at this time. That's when a driver from the opposite direction hit the juvenile, officers said.

The juvenile was hospitalized for minor injuries.
