Triad suspect identified, facing multiple charges after firing shots at officers in Greensboro

A Triad man is in custody and has been charged after firing a gun at officers in a standoff that spanned hours, according to officials with the Greensboro Police Department.On Tuesday, just before 11 p.m., officers were called to a home in the 2400 block of Kersey Street after receiving a call from a woman saying that a man had a gun and was threatening to kill her.When officers arrived, the suspect started to make threats to kill officers while holding a young child in his arms. As SRT members began arriving at the scene, the suspect fired his gun at officers from the second story of the home.Negotiations continued for an extended period but ended up being unsuccessful. Officers saw the suspect brandishing the gun, and an SRT officer shot at the suspect, hitting him.The suspect then barricaded himself further inside the home.At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the suspect was taken into custody. The two young children in the residence were not injured during the incident.
