Wake Forest basketball coach Steve Forbes called his team's road concerns a "narrative." Well, on Tuesday night, the Demon Deacons certainly rewrote the script by blasting Georgia Tech in Atlanta, 80-51.
Tuesday night's match-up was essentially decided in the first half with Wake Forest starting the game on a 23-3 run. A 10-0 run later in the frame, would give the Deacs a 26 point at halftime.
Despite being plagued by injury all season, Cam Hildreth exploded for one of his best performances of the season. The Wake Forest senior recorded a team-high 17 points, with 11 of them coming in the first half.
The victory moves the Deacs to 15-7 overall and 7-4 in conference. They also improved their road record to 2-5 on the season. Wake Forest now gets ready to host NC State this upcoming Saturday. The meeting is a rematch from Jan. 16, a game in which the Pack won by seven.
