FOR THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY. GOOD AFTERNOON AND HAPPENING NOW, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE INTERACTIVE RESOURCE CENTER IN GREENSBORO IS IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW. CHRISTINA SINGLETON IS FACING FOUR COUNTS OF A MISDEMEANOR LARCENY. ACCORDING TO POLICE REPORTS, SHE’S ACCUSED OF STEALING ITEMS FROM TARGET BETWEEN DECEMBER 14TH AND 20TH. SINGLETON WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND BOOKED ON CHARGES AND SHE WAS RELEASED FROM JAIL ON A WRITTEN PROMISE TO APPEAR IN COURT. WE HAVE REACHED OUT TO THE INTERACTIVE RESOURCE CENTER FOR THEIR RESPONSE TO THIS ARREST. IN OTHER NEWS, A HIGH POINT WOMAN IS FACING CHARGES IN A DEADLY CRASH IN GREENSBORO. THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON ON I-85 SOUTH NEAR SOUTH ELM-EUGENE STREET POLICE SAY A JEEP COMPASS REAR ENDED A MERCEDES BENZ SEDAN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING THE MERCEDES TO RUN OFF THE ROAD. THE DRIVER OF THE MERCEDES LATER DIED AT THE HOSPITAL. AN OFFICIAL EXCUSE ME, OFFICERS CHARGED THE DRIVER OF THE JEEP. 47 YEAR-OLD AMY BARBER, WITH A MISDEMEANOR DEATH BY VEHICLE AND FAILING TO REDUCE SPEED TO AVOID A COLLISION. AND A HOUSE FIRE IN WINSTON-SALEM LEAVES TWO PEOPLE WITHOUT A HOME. IT BROKE OUT OVERNIGHT ON CHALCEDONIA DRIVE. FIREFIGHTERS SHARED THIS VIDEO OF THE SCENE ON SOCIAL MEDIA. YOU CAN SEE THE FLAMES SHOOTING FROM TWO WINDOWS OF THE HOME ALONG WITH SMOKE. WE’RE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO INJURIES, AND INVESTIGATORS ARE LOOKING INTO WHAT CAUSED THIS FIRE AND HOW MUCH WAS DAMAGED. AND THIS AFTERNOON, THE ALAMANCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS EXPECTED TO GIVE DETAILS ABOUT AN ARREST AND AN INVESTIGATION STRETCHING ACROSS MULTIPLE COUNTIES. WE’RE TOLD THE EXAMINATION INTO HUMAN EXPLOITATION AND INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN BEGAN LAST OCTOBER. THE SHERIFFS OF ALAMANCE, DAVIDSON AND RANDOLPH COUNTIES ARE EXPECTED TO SPEAK TO REPORTERS AT 2:00. OFFICIALS SAY A MAJOR FROM THE FORSYTH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WILL ALSO BE THERE. IN A GROUP OF MEN IN GUILFORD COUNTY BRAVED THE CHILLY WEATHER THIS MORNING AND HONOR OF SERGEANT PHILLIP DALE NIX, THE GREENSBORO POLICE OFFICER, WOULD HAVE TURNED 51 TODAY IN HIS HONOR, A GROUP OF MEN CALLED THE F3 HOSTED A SPECIAL WORKOUT. The conditions that some of the dogs were found in were deplorable. A large number of the dogs were kept in outside kennels, and most of these were covered in feces and urine. Several of the dogs had obvious scars and facial injuries from previous dog fights. On Thursday, investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Criminal Investigations Division, along with members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant in the 190 block of Whitney Lane after investigating illegal dogfighting.

After executing the search warrant, Claude Sanders Jr., 46, was arrested and charged with 24 counts of cruelty to animals, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
