The WXII 12 First Warning Weather Team is monitoring the chance of showers and thunderstorms through early Sunday.
Stuck between high and low pressure, southerly winds have brought higher humidity to the Carolinas.

Repeated rounds of rain are creating localized flooding in parts of the Piedmont Triad after more than 2 inches has fallen in around the Winston-Salem area through Lewisville, Clemmons, and Pfafftown.
FLOOD WATCH
Ashe, Watagua, Alleghany, Wilkes, Surry, Yadkin, Stokes, Patrick, Rockingham, and Caswell counties are under a flood watch through Sunday morning. Heavy rain could lead to localized flooding of creeks and low-lying areas.
TIMING
EARLY SUNDAY: Rain may be heavy at times with potential for one to three inches of rain by 7 a.m. Please stay weather aware this weekend! If traveling early Sunday, you may need to prepare for travel hazards such as localized flooding. Be careful on the roads and watch out for standing water.
SUNDAY: We have a chance for an early shower, but we should begin to dry out during the afternoon. It will start to feel cooler as well. Highs are forecast to be in the upper 50s midday Sunday before dropping into the upper 40s late afternoon. It's time to bring back the winter layers Sunday evening as temperatures dip while winds stay up. Gusty northwest winds continue through Monday.
