INVESTIGATORS HAVE IDENTIFIED HUMAN REMAINS DISCOVERED LAST FALL AS THE REMAINS OF LOGAN BOWMAN. BOWMAN WAS FIVE YEARS OLD WHEN HE WENT MISSING IN GRAYSON COUNTY IN JANUARY OF 2003. HIS MOTHER, CYNTHIA DAVIS, AND HER THEN BOYFRIEND, DENNIS SCHERMERHORN, WERE CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH HIS DISAPPEARANCE. DAVIS WAS SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON FOR HIS MURDER. THE REMAINS WERE FOUND LAST SEPTEMBER IN THE AREA OF IRON RIDGE ROAD IN GALAX, VIRGINIA. THE CARROLL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THEY EXPECT MORE CHARGES IN THIS CASE. REIDSVILLE POLICE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP TO IDENTIFY A VEHICLE OF INTEREST AS THEY INVESTIGATE A SHOOTING. POLICE SHARED THESE PICTURES ON FACEBOOK. THE SHOOTING TOOK PLACE SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT LAST TUESDAY ON NORTH WASHINGTON AVENUE. THEY SAY A MINOR WAS INJURED AND TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. NO WORD ON THAT MINOR’S CONDITION. POLICE HAVE NOT NAMED ANY SUSPECTS, AND DAVIDSON COUNTY SCHOOLS WILL SOON HAVE A NEW SUPERINTENDENT. THE SCHOOL BOARD IS SCHEDULED TO MEET AT 7:00 TONIGHT AND APPROVE A NEW SUPERINTENDENT’S CONTRACT IN A CLOSED SESSION. THE BOARD WILL THEN SELECT AND APPROVE THE NEW SUPERINTENDENT IN A PUBLIC SESSION. THE MEETING IS TAKING PLACE AT DAVIS TOWNSEND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON HEATH CHURCH ROAD IN LEXINGTON.
