NOW, THAT COMPANY, PURDUE PHARMA, WILL AGREE TO A MULTI BILLION DOLLAR LAWSUIT OVER UNETHICAL MARKETING PRACTICES OF THE DRUG WITH ITS OWNERS. THE SACKLER FAMILY CONTRIBUTING $6 BILLION TO HELP FIGHT THE EPIDEMIC THAT THE WELL KNOWN PAINKILLER HELPED SPARK. THEY SAY ON TURNBRIDGE CIRCLE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE CITY. WE’RE TOLD EMS RUSHED THE VICTIM TO THE HOSPITAL. RIGHT NOW, OFFICERS DO NOT HAVE ANY SUSPECT. ARTS INVESTIGATORS IN DANVILLE, VIRGINIA, ARE WORKING TO IDENTIFY A PERSON FOUND DEAD IN A HOUSE FIRE. FIREFIGHTERS SAY THIS BROKE OUT ON SCHOOL FIELD DRIVE. CREWS ARRIVING ON THE SCENE FOUND FLAMES AND SMOKE POURING FROM THE HOME. WHEN FIREFIGHTERS GOT INSIDE, THEY FOUND THE VICTIM INSIDE A BEDROOM. WE’RE TOLD CREWS RESCUED A DOG FROM THE HOME. INVESTIGATORS SAY DISCARDED SMOKING MATERIALS STARTED THE FIRE. THE BROTHER OF A MURDER VICTIM IS DEMANDING JUSTICE AS THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE HOMICIDE CONTINUES. ON SEPTEMBER 29TH, POLICE IN WILKES COUNTY EMS WERE CALLED TO ELM STREET, NORTH NORTH WILKESBORO. THEY SAY THEY FOUND 32 YEAR OLD LAVERNE JOHNSON SHOT AND HE LATER DIED ON OCTOBER 10TH. HIS BROTHER TELLS WXII THAT HE IS FRUSTRATED THERE HAVE STILL NOT BEEN ANY ARRESTS. IF YOU CAN LITERALLY, YOU KNOW, JUST KILL SOMEONE AND AND NOTHING HAPPENED. A hitchhiker who kidnapped a woman who picked him up in North Carolina is still on the run and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say on Nov. 30, a woman in Cherokee County, North Carolina, picked up Jordan Hedden and Stephanie Neace, who were hitchhiking.

They said Hedden forced the woman into the backseat and started driving the car.

Authorities said Neace was arrested and is in custody in Georgia, but Hedden is still at large and believed to be on the run.

They said they believed he may have hitchhiked to Georgia and could also be on a bicycle.

"If you spot him do not attempt to make contact," a Facebook post from authorities said. "Call 911 immediately to disclose his appearance and whereabouts. Hedden is believed to be involved in criminal activity and is believed to pose an immediate threat to public safety."
