Two months later, no closure for homicide victim's family
THERE IS NO SUSPECT AT THIS HOUR. THE BROTHER OF A HOMICIDE VICTIM IS ASKING FOR JUSTICE BACK ON SEPTEMBER 29TH OF THIS YEAR, POLICE IN WILKES COUNTY EMS FOUND A SHOOTING VICTIM ON ELM STREET IN NORTH WILKESBORO. 32 YEAR OLD LAVERNE JOHNSON LATER DIED OF THAT WOUND ON OCTOBER 10TH. TONIGHT, HIS BROTHER NOW FRUSTRATED THAT THERE STILL HAVE BEEN NO SUSPECTS CHARGED, SAYS HIS BROTHER DESERVES JUSTICE. IF YOU CAN LITERALLY, YOU KNOW, JUST KILL SOMEONE AND AND NOTHING HAPPENED. The brother of a homicide victim in North Wilkesboro is asking for justice. North Wilkesboro Police tells WXII that on Sept. 29, 2023, they and Wilkes County EMS found a shooting victim on L Street in North Wilkesboro. The victim, Levern Johnson, 32, later died of that wound on Oct. 10.His brother, Paul Johnson, said he is frustrated that there still have been no suspects charged. Johnson believes he knows who shot his brother, and hopes that law enforcement take action, soon. "It's really disheartening, and it's scary honestly," he said, "If someone can shoot someone, and kill them, and get away with it."North Wilkesboro Police said they are still investigating the homicide. Paul Johnson said his brother loved music. "I wish I could have helped him more ," he said. "He was really talented." The brother of a homicide victim in North Wilkesboro is asking for justice.

North Wilkesboro Police tells WXII that on Sept. 29, 2023, they and Wilkes County EMS found a shooting victim on L Street in North Wilkesboro. The victim, Levern Johnson, 32, later died of that wound on Oct. 10.

His brother, Paul Johnson, said he is frustrated that there still have been no suspects charged. Johnson believes he knows who shot his brother, and hopes that law enforcement take action, soon.
