THIS IS BREAKING NEWS. BREAKING NEWS IS FIRST AT 4:00 OUT OF DAVIDSON COUNTY. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE JUST CONFIRMED AN INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY THIS AFTERNOON AFTER FIVE PEOPLE WERE SHOT OVERNIGHT. ARE CHRISTINE CRUZ IS IN THE STUDIO WITH WHAT WE KNOW THIS AFTERNOON. AND CHRISTINE, WE’RE TOLD THIS ALL STEMMED FROM A FIGHT. YEAH, LINDSAY AND DEVANTE, THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT POLICE ARE SAYING. A SERGEANT WITH THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE TELLS US THAT SHOTS RANG OUT ON NORTH NC HIGHWAY EIGHT AT GRAY ROAD IN THE SOUTHMONT COMMUNITY LAST NIGHT AFTER TWO GROUPS OF PEOPLE GOT INTO SOME SORT OF ALTERCATION. NOW, AS YOU MENTIONED, FIVE PEOPLE WERE SHOT. NO WORD ON THE EXTENT OF THEIR INJURIES, BUT WE DO KNOW THAT ALL OF THEM ARE ADULTS. WE’RE ALSO TOLD NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE.
