APP. A BAR OWNER IN WINSTON-SALEM SURRENDERED HIS ALCOHOL LICENSE. THE MOVE COMES AFTER A SHOOTING OVER THE WEEKEND THAT LEFT FIVE PEOPLE INJURED. WXII 12 IS KARA PETERS JOINS US LIVE THIS EVENING. AND KARA, WHAT CAN YOU SHARE ABOUT THIS CASE. WELL, CHRISTINA, I CAN SAY THAT THAT SHOOTING TOOK PLACE AT THE SPORTS BAR, THE SPOT SPORTS BAR EXCUSE ME, HERE ON NORTH GLENN AVENUE EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. AND ACCORDING TO THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. OWNER CARY GREENE JR. TURNED IN HIS ALCOHOL LICENSE MONDAY. NOW, PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICIALS SAY THAT THAT SHOOTING LEFT FIVE PEOPLE SHOT. THEY ALSO JUST REVEALED ONE PERSON WAS GRAZED BY A BULLET AND TWO PEOPLE WERE INJURED FROM GLASS BY TRYING TO CRAWL OUT OF THE BAR DURING THAT SHOOTING. NOW, THIS RECENT SHOOTING IS NOT THE FIRST VIOLENT INCIDENT AT THE BUSINESS. IN FACT, ACCORDING TO WINSTON-SALEM POLICE, NOVEMBER 4TH, OFFICERS FOUND 41 YEAR OLD JERRY LEE HAIRSTON JR SHOT AND KILLED AN ALCOHOL. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS SAY THAT THEY WILL NOT EXPLORE FILING CHARGES ON THAT OWNER. WE ARE LIVE TONIGHT IN WINSTON-SALEM.

The owner, Kerry Greene Jr., voluntarily turned in the ABC licenses to Alcohol Law Enforcement special agents on Monday. Greene's business, The Spott Sports Bar, located at 3533 North Glenn Ave. in Winston-Salem, has a recent history of violence, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

On Nov. 4, a homicide occurred at The Spott, which is still being investigated by the Winston-Salem Police Department.

On Sunday, WSPD officers responded to a shooting at The Spott. This incident resulted in five individuals being shot. Additionally, one individual was grazed by a bullet, and two individuals sustained cuts and lacerations from glass trying to crawl out of the establishment during the shooting, according to police who are still investigating.
