Electric Tequila owner facing charges after bar shooting in Greensboro
SIMPLE QUESTION ABOUT HER LATE MARINE SON. FIRST, AT 10:00, ONE WEEK AFTER A SHOOTOUT IN THE PARKING LOT OF A GREENSBORO NIGHTSPOT, THE OWNER IS NOW FACING CHARGES. TWO WOMEN WERE LEARNED OR WERE INJURED BY THE GUNFIRE. KARA PETERS JOINS US LIVE OUTSIDE OF ELECTRIC TEQUILA IN GREENSBORO WITH MORE ON WHO’S BEEN ARRESTED. KARA. YEAH, DEVONTE, ALCOHOL, LAW ENFORCEMENT SAYS SPECIAL AGENTS ARRESTED BOBBY BOBBY BULLINS LAST SATURDAY. AS YOU MENTIONED, ALL OF THIS DUE TO A SHOOTING THAT TOOK PLACE OUTSIDE THE BAR HERE ON BATTLEGROUND AVENUE. AND AS YOU CAN SEE BEHIND ME, THERE’S PLENTY OF RESTAURANTS AND BUSINESSES IN THIS AREA. IN FACT, WE SPOKE TO ONE JUST A FEW DOORS DOWN ON WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE WITH THE SPACE IN THE FUTURE. THE DOORS LOCKED UP AT ELECTRIC TEQUILA FRIDAY EVENING AFTER THE ARREST OF OWNER BOBBY BULLINS FOLLOWING A SHOOTING THAT LEFT TWO PEOPLE INJURED LAST WEEK. ACCORDING TO ALCOHOL LAW ENFORCER, BULLINS IS CHARGED WITH ALLOWING AFFRAY OR FOR FIGHTING, ALLOWING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATIONS AND FAILURE TO MANAGE ALL ON A LICENSED PREMISES. ISRAEL ALLEN AND HIS BROTHER HAVE CO-OWNED GATE CITY GROWLERS, JUST A FEW DOORS DOWN FROM ELECTRIC TEQUILA SINCE FEBRUARY. THERE’S BEEN A COUPLE INSTANCES OF SOME GUNSHOTS GOING OFF HERE AND THERE JUST KIND OF SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING THAT THIS WASN’T THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENED. SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE SHOWING THE MOMENT PEOPLE RAN OUT OF ELECTRIC TEQUILA AFTER SHOTS WERE FIRED. ALLEN SAYS WHILE THEIR BUSINESS WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME OF THE SHOOTING, ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES WAS IMPACTED. ONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT WORK HERE, MY FRIEND HUNTER, HE WAS ASLEEP ON THE COUCH IN HERE WHEN IT WAS HAPPENING, AND HIS CAR ACTUALLY GOT HIT BY, I THINK, LIKE A RICOCHET BULLET. OUR CREWS SPOTTED THIS SIGN ON THE DOORS OF THE BUSINESS AND CALLED THE NUMBER. THE LANDLORD DID NOT PROVIDE FURTHER COMMENT, BUT DID REITERATE THAT THE BAR IS IN THEIR POSSESSION. ALLEN SAYS HE HOPES TO SEE A GOOD STANDING BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE. IRVING PARK PLAZA IS AWESOME. GREAT PEOPLE WORK HERE A LOT OF AMAZING BUSINESSES ARE HERE. I FEEL LUCKY TO BE HERE, YOU KNOW, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST A CLUB ENVIRONMENT, BUT I THINK DOWNTOWN IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW CLUB ENVIRONMENTS, RESTAURANTS, BARS CAN ALL COEXIST. I AM REALLY UNSURE OF ELECTRIC TEQUILA’S ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY, BUT I’M EXCITED TO SEE WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS. NO NEGATIVITY TOWARDS ANYBODY, ONLY LOOKING FORWARD TO POSSIBILITIES AS AND ACCORDING TO ALCOHOL LAW ENFORCEMENT, BULLINS SURRENDERED HIS ABC PERMITS THIS TUESDAY DAY AND ACCORDING TO ACCORDING TO WHAT WE HAVE, HE DENIED BEING THE OWNER. WE REACHED OUT TO BALANCE. HE DENIED BEING THE OWNER OF THE ESTABLISHMENT AND DENIED TO SPEAK FURTHER. FOR NOW, WE’RE LIVE IN GREE
