The US government has been toiling over its budget for weeks. Now with Republicans and Democrats unable to reach an agreement. Well, that will all come to *** head soon as officials have now begun to warn federal employees that *** government shutdown is likely incoming. The deadline to reach an agreement comes within the next 48 hours and they are currently planning late night votes tonight. Those meant to ensure funding for home and security, agriculture and state foreign operations. Though Reuters reports, even if those appropriations go through, that would not prevent *** partial shutdown at which time, all non essential government work would be suspended and the employees would be furloughed. However, the Biden administration recently said *** partial government shutdown would still have catastrophic effects as it would interrupt around 2000 long term disaster recovery projects. It could also affect the income of around 2 million military personnel. The last shutdown of this kind occurred under the Trump administration related to his border wall initiative. It lasted from December 2018 until the end of January 2019. If an agreement cannot be made by Saturday night, this will be the 22nd government shutdown in our nation's history.
