Nursing students in the Northern Regional Hospital Camp Med program participated in a simulation of how first responders handle car crashes caused by texting.
"Regardless of what department you work in, what kind of nurse, even if you're just a health care worker, you have to be prepared for anything and everything," said student Cheyenne Rogers.
Thursday at the hospital’s parking lot, the mock scenario went through multiple stages, with the students as the planners and actors.

Starting with a call to 911 to report the simulated crash to first responders arriving at the scene, followed by removing the actors from the wrecked car and transporting them to the hospital, participants got to see how emergency services handle traumatic situations.
